Interesting statistical fact: Neymar is far ahead of CR7 in overall La Liga Rating by 'Whoscored.com' and even moving ahead of Messi after today's performance.

It's safe to say he's hit the next nevel. All of a sudden he's so calm and composed.

Completely agree. I felt this since that Roma performance at the Camp Nou in pre-season. Going past players like they're not there, shielding the ball well, movement off the ball and pressing is top notch, long range of passing and great one touch football displays during most of the game. We can all see he's a complete player when allowed to leave the left wing, we could easily use him as a n10 feeding Leo and Suarez during games instead of sticking to a rigid 4-3-3. Fantastic left foot volley as well, that ball from Sergi was delicious.

One thing though, Neymar is getting kicked far too much, every game he's taking a beating. He was visibly limping for the final 10 minutes of the game tonight. Getafe's right back, Damian Suarez always gives him a rough ride behind the ref's back. It's a shame as he's a good player and would probably be playing at a better team if he actually concentrated more on playing football and not assaulting people.

We also see how much other players can shine when Messi does not play. Of course we are better with Messi, but we are not as dependent on him as we might think.

Messi dribbling is just his freakish change in acceleration. That man is unreal, neymar adds so much skill to his dribbling. He is so unpredictable.

Have to agree with the last part. There was one dribble this season he seemed to be about to do La Croqueta to beat two players and normally that'd be enough to amaze us but he noticed he might get tackled by the second player and quickly dummied the ball past his second foot. His speed of thought when dribbling in tight spaces is incredible.

He plays almost exclusively on left wing even today during Messi's absence. He just improved his passing and doesn't lose so many balls. Still don't see him as no 10, he doesn't have good enough throughballs for that. Messi, Rakitic, Iniesta and even Rafinha are far better fit for 10 position, if you want to play it.

And yes the foot volley was good. Normally he tries to take control of the ball and shoot with right foot, he made a good decision to use his left.
