'Nowhere near' is too harsh. A player like Wayne Rooney is nowhere near Messi. But Neymar playing like he is at the moment is up there, closer to Messi. Not better at all or even as good, but the margin is not as big as some people think.
Neymar is better than Cristiano right now though.

The Messi injury brought some good things - from being totally lost in attack the first few weeks after he was injured, to Neyboy + Suarez stepping up and we have an identity even without Messi.
