Difficult to buy a player from Rennes? Worrying...

Better splash the cash on Rooney, Gameiro or Fernando Torres.

Gameiro wouldn't be bad. We need a good sub for the 9. Munir has the talent, but he's better off on loan so he can keep developing. Never going to knock off one of MSN at this point in time. Dembele the same. Way too talented to just stay on the bench. When you have such good players permanently on one spot, it's obvious that the youth won't get as many chances there, because there's quite simply no need for it. Rather, there should be an experienced reserve who knows what to do and how to do it when he gets the chance. With Rafinha and Denis being as versatile as they are, they can take care of the wings when needed, and Gameiro will be Suárez' backup. Sounds good to me, given that MSN has been completely out-burned this season due to no reliable backup like Pedro in 14/15. Maybe if Rafinha hadn't got injured, but that's another story.

Difficult? Doesn't he have like 5M buy-out fee?
France doesn't have buyout clauses. and the SPORT article says Dembele changed representatives is the reason why a transfer seeming difficult.

MD on the other hand denies we met with Ousmane and his reps a month ago.

Dembele can play any position up front so will get far more playing time than Gameiro or any other player.

Rafa is slow as a turtle and should never play on the wings. Same with Arda.

1-Dembele isn't as good as Gameiro is right now ,anyone thinking otherwise is fooling himself
2-Dembele doesn't fit the team right now ,his decision making and passing are his biggest weakness .as talented as he is he simply doesn't fit and won't get any minutes when we need to win
He is talented young prospect .probably a future star .but he will be the kind of signing that is for long term not short term by any means .he would settle for Munir minutes and won't be able to challenge MSN for rest like Pedro did last year.
Gameiro is good enough for that role ,he is a true 9 but his style of play would fit as back up for LW perfectly too
3-His price is gonna be crazy most probably ,we are in April and Liverpool,Bayern,Tottenham,Arsenal,Manu are already following him .
I don't get why you are surprised that it is "Difficult to buy a player from Rennes? " .if there are many rich clubs following him it will be difficult transfer.period
For a long term prospect who won't be able to play the role we need right away? I can understand the team being hesitant to waste half of its transfer budget on him.

All being said ,Gameiro while actually makes sense is just too old for the team long term plans.and there is even no guarantee we would get him cheaply .
Would really like it if we explore other options .

Nope. He is better than Gameiro is now. He is performing much better than Martial did before he joined Man U last year. Dembele is the perfect long term signing with potential for instant impact and is highly versatile so will get plenty of minutes. Just what we need IMO.

Its feels a bit too early for Dembele to make a move to Barcelona at this stage. He still has quite a few flaws and going to Barcelona might slow his progress because he might not be given playing time.

I do think it is likely that we will wait until PSG or Chelsea sign him. Then we will try to go for him like we did with Verratti.

The best option is to keep french talent in France or this league will never progress. The Rennes owner (Pinault family, which has Gucci Group, Puma, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciage, the Printemps in Paris) is one of the richest man in France. 1 or 2 more years in Rennes for Dembele will be great for him and french football.

Most reliable Dortmund source confirm: Dortmund "in pole position" to sign Dembele- Personal terms agreed

----------------------------------------

Summary of the important part:

They're saying that they (RN themselves, they're not sourcing like sport bild or anything like that) have information, that there was a meeting with Michael Zorc in Dortmund. Zorc met with Agent Badou Sambague and Dembélés mother Fatima ("The youngster makes no decisions without her approval") and among other things showed them the Signal Iduna Park. In principle there's an agreement between the Player and BVB.

Good if true, at least he didn't end up in Bayern.

If BVB buys him for say 30m, we will try to buy him for 90m in two or three years. That's how we sign players.
