Best deal in football so far, made by dortmund, buying player for 15 m and one season after sold for 145 m

Barca is up there with psg and city, when it goes to buying players, so lets not laugh at them

We buy with money we earn, not money handed to us by some sheikh. Why do you think Madrid and Man Utd aren't spoken of in the same manner as psg and city? PSG didn't even use their own money to get Neymar.

Barca is nothing like Qatar and UAE owned clubs. Just because over current board are useless fools that doesnt mean we are same shitholes like them.

We are becoming more like them. Forget becoming, we have been like them for a long time now as long as the rosell-barto duo has been in charge. Can't criticize madrid or psg currently for sure when our club is doing everything like they do.

Again, we have always made big signings, as does every big club. There isn't anything wrong with that.

Madrid, I could see the comparison. PSG no because we don't have a state buying players for us.

Madrid are criticized a lot for spending money like crazy. We used to criticize them for spending on players while we nurture talent but thats changed now.

Yes, the only difference is that PSG is state run, but apart from that, not much difference. There was time when mes que en club was actually true, just a tagline now.

I agree.
If Barca wants Dembele and the club is finally able to get him, let it be. But shouldn't forget that his final 120-150M price is just and simply because of the Neymar deal.
His "2017 June value" would be around 40M.

My concern is a bit more on his professional or his accomplished qualities though. He is a young, fast, good player, playing in a team that is almost built around counter-attacks. His good speed was a nice thing there, but Barca's style is very different. He is still not a Neymar type of player (not as skillful and even not as fast). Thus, though I'd wish him the possible greatest success in Barca, if he comes, frankly and professionally speaking, I don't see the concept in signing a Dembele type of player, unless there were quite a few other changes as well, and a handful of changes in Barca's style.

If he is brought to complement Neymar's departure, then he is a bad choice in my opinion.
Unless Coutinho comes and by that there is a chance to overhaul the midfield this season, Dembele alone will not be a wonder-maker and even with him there are hordes of other factors to turn to Barca's advantage to play on the level of the 2014/2015 season.

Expectation will be extremely high for a player of 150 million, and I'm afraid Dembele is not surely the type of player Barca really needs.
Regardless his present state, Di Maria is much closer to the type of player this system requires to continue.
But this is just my personal opinion...
Agree with a lot of it except for Dembele not being a good fit and di Maria being a better fit.

It's true that Dembele did cherish in a counter attacking team but despite his comparatively lower skillset & speed, his passing and dribbling in tight spaces is more one touch than Neymar's was...... So there's a hope. And the elite players in the team with Messi, Suarez and hopefully a superstar mid fielder arriving, may be he will not have to worry about dribbling through an army of defenders like Neymar had to!

di Maria would never be a good fit for true Barca play! With his selfish my-me-myself game plan there's no way in hell he would have helped us!!

But yeah the kid is gonna have a huge pressure which makes the chances of him being a success here very, very bleak.

If by "mes que un club" you mean "we didn't make big signings," then no it was never true. Ibra. 'Nuff said.

There are far better complaints you can make against this board than the simple fact that they buy players. Like the actual trash they buy (Gomes, Arda, etc). We bought players before them and we will buy players after them.

A team entirely consisting of La Masia players is a pipe dream. We will always need signings. We needed them even when the La Masia golden generation was at its peak.

I'm not saying we should recklessly spend hundreds of millions of euros on big names simply because they're big names with little planning beyond that galactico style. But signings will always be needed, sometimes big ones.

More like them? We are worse. We have president and ex-president committing so many criminal acts from frauding to money laundring and anything in between. How are we better than them?

We were always crazy spenders.
Except in a short era a few years ago.

We were never much different than Rm regarding buying superstars.
Don't be fooled by a golden Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Busquets era.

Even then we spent a lot. Alves, Ibra, Villa, etc.

All big clubs spend like crazy. To me what sets PSG, City etc apart from the rest is that the money was handed to them by states rather than them earning it. And what sets galactico era RM apart from the rest is that they were stupid about it though Perez has learned his lesson for the most part.

See, there's a legitimate complaint about the board. Much better than "they buy players."

You just cant justify buying player who is not world class yet for 145m, yes, psg did bought neymar for 220, but let compare what they got and what will barca have, psg in neymar has player who is top 3 in the world, probably best marketing player by far out there, dembele? 20 year old potential who can become world class or maybe finish like robinho

Never said the ONLY thing wrong with them is them buying expensive players. It would be great if we were huge money spenders but we know where to spend and who to buy like RM. Anyway there are 100 things apart from this that takes away the mes que en club tag away from us.
