I swear some people seem to think we've always played with a starting XI of academy players and only recently started to even spend money on the transfer market.

There are plenty of legitimate complaints against the board. That we make big signings isn't one of them, because every big club does so. As do we. And we need signings more than ever right now with the last of the La Masia golden generation closing in on 30 (and us stupidly pushing Thiago out a few years ago).

Yeah, if you ignore that Dembele is 20 years old in his first season in Bundesliga. Already ranked as the second best, thats impressive no matter how you slice it. And that effects the price. We must stop this idea that signing 30 year olds for incredible fees make sense.
