Ousmane Dembele transfer coming to an end, player likely to leave to FC Barcelona for a fee around €140M [RuhrNachrichten]
this is the most reliable source we have for his, basically Dortmund's local paper with sources inside the club. It's happening
Anyway there are 100 things apart from this that takes away the mes que en club tag away from us.
You just cant justify buying player who is not world class yet for 145m, yes, psg did bought neymar for 220, but let compare what they got and what will barca have, psg in neymar has player who is top 3 in the world, probably best marketing player by far out there, dembele? 20 year old potential who can become world class or maybe finish like robinho
I'd rather be a club that wins than be more than a club. But maybe that's just me. Sign anyone we need for whatever is asked of us. Real Madrid doesn't cry about big spending because it brings them results and we should be the same.
Master Bartomeu
Negotiated fee down 10m
Not to sound too pessimistic and judgemental but Dembele did cause as much trouble to his parent club (to come to Barca) as did Neymar Jr. to his........ only difference being Neymar Jr. (and Sneyke Sr.) did it to the club that made him the player that he is whereas Dembele has only been there for one year!
absolutely mugged BVB off here, the witcher.
Indeed there are. Like Barto and co being a bunch of crooks. Simply buying players has nothing to do with it. Otherwise we were never "more than a club" to begin with because we've always been heavy spenders.
Were we heavy spenders always? Yes. Were we stupid heavy spenders always? no. We have paid a shitload of amount for arda, paco, gomes and paulinhio and apart from paco to a small extent all are deadwood. Those players could have been substituted easily by la masia. No one criticizes us buying suarez and neymar for that amount but the amount of deadwood we have and the amount we have spent on it is astoninshing to say the least and the board deserves all criticism for it.
Its not the amount we spent, its the quality we got by spending that.
