We should buy Seri and call it a day. I don't feel comfortable spending the rest of it on Coutinho. Are there really no other midfield options for us? Talk about a weird generation of footballers...

We missed the boat on Bernardo Silva. We could have got Mikhitaryan last summer instead of Gomes for the same price.

The problem is the best players are mostly at the big clubs and the big clubs are very hard to buy from. The problem with Barca is they wait till players are at big clubs till they try to buy them. The alternative is buying crap from China or Valencia, rather than sign Dybala from Palermo or Dembele from Rennes.

Liverpool are on the periphery of a top club and they won't sell. Leipzig won't sell Keita to them.

This forum will crucify him if he has a run of 3-4 bad games since he isn't too consistent.

Not just this forum, but the whole fanbase. That's insane money paid for someone whose price was only 15m a year ago, and is not exactly considered world class. Talent alone does not make a player great, but the psycological strength for coping with the pressure of playing at a big club, and ofc consistency.

Nevermind those who's turning this kid into the next big thing without even him playing a match for Barca yet. There are so many question marks about this transfer which the time will answer.

It's nice that this isn't a lump sum of 150k + additionals. It's good to know that he's better team player, because despite obvious superiority in individual skills, Neymar was self-aggrandizing show-boater, who constantly disrupted the flow of play with his ''i'll just stop and take a pot shots at this puny defender for shits and giggles'. Hope he will turn out as good as some (obviously, more knowledgeable people, say he is as they have watched him regularly) say, but we're still fucked if there's none that can be a deep playmaker with high IQ and good close control. We don't need Xavi replacement quality wise as that's impossible, but at least someone, who can play that role decently. In current squad there's no one of that sort.

Finally. Welcome to Barça, kiddo.

Now I can finally go watch his higlights on yt again. I didn't want to jinx so didn't watch anything over the last few weeks. :D

Now to re-read this thread from the start and bask in the agony, optimism and again rage and agony in how we nearly signed or not signed him.

Ojo's and Ultima hora's included.

thank fuck this one is finally done.

You're already judging him.
Ousmane Dembélé for @BVB in the Bundesliga last season:

Most take-ons (103)
Most chances created (63)
Most assists (12)

This is what he achieved at Dortmund last season as a teenager. He was already one of the best players in Bundesliga in his first season there. He's already proven he can perform at a big club at a very young age. Obviously Barcelona is a bigger stage but you can't in one breath cast doubt about his mental strength/"turning him into the next big thing (isn't he?) then question why "x" and "y" money was payed for him. Blame PSG for further destroying the market this season.

Go on Dembele!

Feels good to have someone who wants to be at club as much as he does after Ney going.

Big fee but unusual situation where almost had to pay 20/30m more for him or face an uncompetitive season.

Coutinho in now and could start to look a stronger side than last season.
