Nothing is going on except that he showed nothing promising so far. And that's why he should be given some oportunities in the easy games because the fella has untapped potential. Until he is given chances, and when he does take them, then the logical option is vidal or semedo or even gomes.

291 minutes, 2 assists. Shown nothing.

P.S. Semedo is a RB.

im getting sick and tired of this 'hes not ready'. if hes declared fit he HAS to play, our midfield is utter shit with the turtles wandering around. we payed 120m+ for a future star and were scared to play him

Semedo and Dembele need to play, enough of this Bob at RB also, put him in midfield in place of Paulinho

Why is it logical? Vidal, for example, has done fuck all tonight and for many games this season. Gomes is even worse. Like I said, they are useless on the field and yet Dembele is worse? How the hell can Dembele be worse than 0 production Gomes or Vidal? They add nothing ffs.

Why even bring Semedo in this disscusion is beyond me. He doesn't play the same position.

It is too late to make radical changes to the squad. You can't shake the whole basics like that i don't even know if it's doable but i know for sure Valverde wont.

And The price Tag is for transfer 150 Millions doesn't buy you a carte blanche entry into the starting squad.

This. It's going to be difficult to Dembele integrate that well. Not sure if we should give him full 90 minutes with coming La Liga fixtures. Give him minutes here and there and fingers crossed he starts to look better and better.

totally agree Valverde won't do that, he'll play it safe but even if we disregard the price tag for a minute, Dembele has SPEED which we lack dearly, he cant be any worse than Gomes, Paulinho and Vidal surely?

Radical chances? We don't even have an established starting 11. We aren't at risk at losing continuity because we have none. And is price tag doesn't matter alone no, but it does reflect his potential as a player, which is, by any account huge. Unlike Gomes, Paulinho, Denis, Aleix or Paco, Dembele is actually proven at the very best stage.

This system is no longer working. Now is the time to make radical changes to the squad. Otherwise, we're looking at yet another QF exit in the CL.

i'm sorry but the results say otherwise. We havent lost yet 42 games or so in the most important competitions.
The people who fancy Demebele clearly don't see the bigger picture. We have a slow iniesta and Lord Paulinho who needs 4 touches for a 360 turn. You can only play with three forwards when you have 3 monsterous midfielders on whom you can count defensively (let alone offensively). Our midifield is struggling with 4 players and we see that in tough games. We tend to loose the ball Under pressure, even the slimest. Valverde has more problems to think about than integrating Dembélé right now. Perhaps next year with coutinho and i hope another world class midfielder we can go back to 3 at the front. That would open new horizons to Dembélé.

Exactly this. How hard can it be to be better than players that are so useless in everything. That's the fucking problem. Nobody would have a problem if the player who gets minutes over him would be producing the goods. When Vidal/Gomes and now Paulinho are playing we are like 1 man short every damn time. At least let's see Dembele for the 10-20 minutes these guys are getting. Can't be worse than absolute plonkers because you can't really be worse than that.

Too late for changes? So we should just keep playing the same system even if its not working and bow out of the CL? What are we playing Valverde millions for? So that he can play it safe with the same tactics again and again and no out of the box thinking? What basics are are u even talking about? The workhorse donkey XI which has been an utter failure for a while now?

Forget Dembele's pricetag we want him because of his speed which we sorely lack and is needed against Chelsea's titanic.

It's because you only see the sparkling side of things, which is the attacK. Valverde clearly and rightfully feared chealsea and wanted to secure the result or al least minimize the damage. Dembélé would have weakened our defensive game massively. If this was the second leg and with 20 minutes to go then i would have agreed 100% and i think Valverde would have thrown it Demebele.
