Oh, God, Vidal, Paulinho, Gomes might not be good but you can't keep repeating that they don't add more to defense than Dembele.

Not going into whether you like the tactics or not.

I Feel like every player that leaves dortmund has a tough time. did any dortmund player ever got any succes outside of dortmund?

Bayern is a successful club

Dont even bother reading. Back to ur same agenda and topic again. Plenty of people supported Dembele being on the bench and the likes of others like Gomes to be fielded. They dont have to praise Gomes, but they certainly wouldnt mind having him. Can talk about Gomes trashing all day but tats not my main point.

You are so massively inconsistent, no wonder noone ever understands what you want to say. COmpare that to what you said originally:
Yet Gomes can put out shit performances every week but no one bats an eye. They can even openly discuss whether Dembele will be a fit in Barca. Amd Gomes go scott free even after failing to register a shot on target.

The fck...

Lewa has been pretty good with Bayern so far.

Dembele's injuries have made things complicated for him to adjust and get going as we hoped.

But his value for us goes way beyond this season. The kid is just 20 years old.

I go to Mexico for a couple days and see he barely played against Las Palmas and not a single minute against Atleti. Not a chance Valverde plays him against Chelsea. Was hoping Valverde would try to integrate him but clearly that’s not happening.

Nope. And the injury to Iniesta has basically killed any chance of that happening this year.

What's wrong with that? He gets a free pass to big games despite so many fuck ups. Those saying Dembele should be benched are not saying the same for Gomes and think he provides more. Yet one has played so much more than the other.

Dembele played vs. Las Palmas, vs. Girona before.

Gomes' last match was vs. Valencia nearly a month ago.

He's benched for Gomes.

He would have killed AM on the counter in the 2nd half yesterday when they started to really press. I can't believe Gomes was called on ahead of him.

Lax warm-up against Atlético did not go down well

Dembélé was not in the Barcelona team for Sunday's crucial LaLiga win over Atlético Madrid, but was a candidate to come on once Los Rojiblancos began to give up greater space in the latter stages of the clash.

However, he remained an unused substitute, and 'El Larguero' reports that, having been sent out to warm up, a five-minute spell in which he could be seen standing motionless on the touchline did not go down well.

AS

Might it be up to him after all? :coffee:

Ehh while it's true the club hired a chief for him I have doubts about this claims from EL Larguero in regards to partying.

Just seems to easy to make a narrative that he's not playing due to that. and not only the program El Larguero is more closer to the Madrid side of things than Barcelona.

Not the media very fond of us, but still see no reason to doubt the news.

We know he does go clubbing so it shouldn't surprise us.
Though, I don't make a big thing out of it.

Much more appealed by the last part, 'Lax warm-up against Atlético did not go down well'.

Well, if that's true that he was lackluster in his warm-up, I'm with Valverde on this one, not subbing him in.

But I haven't seen him standing on the side for 5 minutes, so it's most likely bullshit.

I haven't seen anyone else report it either or seen Dembele stand on the side lines for long periods of time.

Going by the lineup I assume Valverde wanted control, and in the second half if things are going to plan he would sub on Dembele. But with Iniesta getting injured in the first half he probably thought it was wiser in his eyes to sub on Gomes and sit back in the second half and subbing on Paulinho to finish the game off.

It was ugly but it somehow worked. But I think subbing of Suarez for Dembele wouldn't have been a bad move tbh, Suarez was pretty bad yesterday and was giving the ball up quite a bit without tracking back. at least with Dembele he would have probably done more in terms of running and tracking back than Suarez did in the second half.

The top coaches I would like at Barca all want to help their young players develop in the best way possible under the best possible circumstances. They see the potential and help cultivate it. They form them as players and let them make the mistakes that are necessary to form themselves. They give them chances and show that they trust them. Especially in times of adversity.

Valverde is like Mourinho. He sees Dembele as any other short-term means to his ends. Just another player that has to fight for his spot with what he can offer right now.
