Guys lets sum up this ongoing discussion. Some of use like him some of us don't but no one can claim that he is not a world class talent. The only important question is whether he has the mentality and IQ to succeed on the highest level or not? IMHO that sums up the entire "Dembele problem". I sincerely doubt he'll become an average footballer, he can only become a world class or a complete fail something like Balotelli. During this season we'll find out in which direction is his career going.

What does this have to do with the French Walcott Dembele?

Far better than walcott will ever be, with the right coaching dembele's promise is immemse, there has been an agenda against him since day 1, injuries haven't helped but certain elements in the press haven't helped and brainless fans pick up on what they read.

Yes because Walcott was never predicted to become world class or called the next Messi or anything...

Other than the Villareal game last season, he has shown virtually nothing for club or country over the past 15 months to merit being called a world class talent

I always saw Coutinho as a Neymar replacement. Its odd why we also decided to sign Dembele if we are going to continue playing Messi and Suarez up front. What do we need support forwards like Dembele and Malcom for when Messi plays 99% of the games and Suarez has to play?

I just hope he can rejoin the rotation soon. He's not going to beat out Coutinho or Messi at forward, nor will he displace Arthur, Rakitic or Busquets in midfield. So, for the near future, his best hope is to be a regular sub and rotation starter. But even for that role, he has serious competition from Rafinha.

Barca has needed a goal scorer off the bench forever, you would think that Dembele could be perfect for this. Dembele has to be ready to come into the game full-steam at any time, or spot start any game.

Neither Arthur nor Coutinho can be expected to play the type of minutes that Messi and Suarez play, so quality offensive depth will be needed to win trophies this year.

Dembele is not an elite goal scorer
