11 - Raphinha

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Nice.

He might not succeed here to the degree most of us would want, but he's the right profile at least. Proper winger who can cut inside, is very quick and can dribble with control. Has ample of top flight experience too and won't cost 80m....

Raphinha, Kessie and Christensen would be 3 very decent additions.

Still need a striker, left back, right back and possibly another centre back though.

lol

Need new full backs more than anything.

Barca full back options is barely even mid table EPL standard and none of them would get near any top team.

They lack lack one or more basics... Alba cant defend or get up and down as used to, Alves cant run, Dest has no idea how to defend or any quality to combine in final third.

Then look at names linked at full back and options for next season... just more of same. Club dont have clue what problems are and never have.

I mean do you have any suggestions? The market for fullbacks looks crap.

Aye go sign better full backs like all the other clubs do.

Not even joking when say likes of Zinchenko and Porro from City would be a step up.

The issue is not it is impossible it is club not looking for correct type of players to improve team.

Reports of Xavi declining Gaya as prefers Alba and telling club he isnt keen on Mazouari etc.

The issue is we are quickly in territory where you spend quite a bit and still gamble. The likes of Porro could turn out to be Dest 2.0 by the looks of it. And Zinchenko is perfectly in line with uninspiring signings like Azpilicueta. Mazouari would have been okay, but personally I think he's rather average. His "price tag" is his biggest selling point, which is never too reassuring. Plus we flat out lost to Bayerns bid. Gaya is half the player Alba is.

It's easy to shoot down names, sorry for that. If there were players like Nuno Mendes on the market I would scream at the club to splash out the 40m (that we don't have though :p).

Porro and Zinchenko are examples of how easy it would be to get better than what Barca have.

This idea it is difficult to improve things is miles off it. Much easier than is made out.

No there were rumours Xavi kyboshed both the Mazouari and Gaya deals and then prefers players like Alba who doesnt have the legs and signs up Roberto again.

Lets go again with Alba who can barely do any of the basics but can occasionally get some assists and then act mistified when teams out work and out play Barca again.

Club are doubling down on all the issues that have made them irrelevant at top level.

Would take Gay over Alba every time as Alba is old and proven to not be producing at top level for years. It is worth whatever 'risk' that is.

Yup. No threat out wide from fullbacks is leading to wingers isolated out wide with no movement or link up in the box.

Which then leads to Xavi asking the CMs to be 'positioned' in between lines and getting into box to support CF as main objective rather than trying to get on ball and dominate it from middle of park.

Crazy way of playing and claiming it is the Barca way.

Xavi has effecitvely taken away the midfield as a dominant part of the team and it is left with teams sitting off Busi in acres of space and letting him have it in areas cant threaten.

Double impact of Busi being so isolated in midfield and others positioned higher up is how easy it is on teams to break through midfield when win it back.

The point is we can quickly blow 50m on average fullbacks like (potentially) Porro, Gaya and Zinchenko and are still a mess. Money we don't have by the way.

Not to mention Alba, Dest and Roberto aren't far off to those guys (as rough as that sounds). Blind opportunism won't get us out of this mess.

Exactly. It happens every game. The worst part is that none of our midfielders are prolific (or even decent) scorers. None of them have AM traits to thrive in the space and make the most of these shitty tactics.

Out of the players we do own, the two that WOULD thrive in that space, one is on loan to Aston Villa and one we just bought and is 19 years old and still playing at Racing...

The point is you try to improve team like every other club and not stick with the players have that are proven not good enough and lack too many basics.

Barca learn nothing season after season and double down.

What does 'get Barca out this mess'? Sticking with players that are now older and already part of problem... nah.

The issue is Xavi and club rate those players anyway. Not that there is no possible way can ever improve on them without it being a sure thing.

Alright, got it.

Just sign a bunch of average fullbacks that are not named Alba, Dest and Roberto. Personally I would want us to spend the money elsewhere in that case, but that's just me I suppose.
