14 - Javier Mascherano

Hi Everyone:

Do not forget that the videos of Mascherano is a compilation of his tackles shown over and over again. He is not a kamikaze player as he appeared in the videos. For example, if you see a compilation of Puyol's tackles, he would also appear to be a kamikaze player. In addition, Puyol has seen a lot of red, this past season.

Mascherano will adapt to the league and circumstances. He got a very unfair yellow in the first game of the 2010 World Cup. When he was getting ready to make a tackle, the ref got in front of him interfering with his play. Therefore, he got to the opposing player a split second too late and thus the yellow. He did not get a second yellow until very late in the German game when the game was already 4-0. He did prevent a fifth goal.

He also played in the Argentine league. Many of the tackles I've seen in the European leagues, including La Liga, that are not sanctioned or get a just yellow card, in Argentina it is a straight red. Again, he can adapt. For example, the flying tackle of Sergio Ramos at Messi's neck was not even called a foul. In Argentina, Ramos would not have gotten only a straight red, but also the league would have imposed a multiple game suspension.

Best regards,

Hektor

Does anybody know who Masch'es agent is? If you do, post a pic and some background info. Btw, from now on we should send all new players agents to a psychotherapist and make an evaluation if it's worth the trouble of signing the player - no matter how awsome the player is.

I like his style of playing. He'll be great for us, Pep chose to sign him for a reason ;)
