14 - Javier Mascherano

I'm going to laugh my life away the day Batra has a bad game and everyone is going to jump on the Batra hating bandwagon as soon as he does.
Personally I think the IDEA of a Cdm at Cb is good but the Cdm's we choose are wrong, what Barcelona staff want is a defender who is good on the ball and besides the obvious Mats Hummels we don't have many pure Cb's that we would even consider. So that leaves Defensive midfielders,we ideally want a player who can pass properly and defend decently but we are signing players that can't adapt well enough (Song is NEVER going to be a good Cb).
Blaming Mascherano is wrong because each player is going to have a run of bad form in their career.
Nah a bad game for bartra is a MUST SELL THIS WINTER BECAUSE HE SUCKS AND CAN'T PLAY LIKE A PROPER CB. This is what the idiots would say for a ONE bad game.

Still too soon to insert Bartra into the lineup...I stick to the Celta Vigo or Alaves match for Marc to get a start

Oh my bad, but still Rayo is suitable chance for Bartra to play. otherwise he should follow Fonats and go for a loan somewhere.

Rayo at home next week??

Away and they are a midtable side who are stronger at home...Not sure that's where Tito will throw him into the fire...Should the team get a comfortable lead then a good time perhaps to sub him in...It's a long season, he will get his chances

What's the use if he play when we are 3/4 goals up??

He had a pretty decent game throughout, probably the best defender on the pitch if you discount for his mistakes and the ref. But with that said, the mistakes he did proved very costly.

First of all, getting that first yellow was incredibly stupid. He had no reason to enter that challenge like he did, it was reckless and thoughtless.
Secondly, that slide that led to the penalty goal... Sure, the referee took the wrong decision in awarding the spotkick, but making that slide was incredibly naive.
Third, the sending off wasn't his fault, but rather the ref being incredibly incompetent. But it was still close to costing us the game.

From fcbarcelona.com:

Mascherano was red-carded for the second time as a Barça player. The first sending-off happened on 11 February 2012, away to Osasuna (3-2).
Strangely enough, it was the same referee on both occasions.

FC Barcelona have announced on Sunday that the club will appeal the red card issued to defender Javier Mascherano by Liga referee Paradas Romero.

What are the chances that the Spanish federation will remove the red card?? no break for Barca.

The red card was fair, he was booked first for that late challenge in the 1st half then he used his elbow for the 2nd yellow. So I don't think it'll be removed.

how was that fair? The first challenge yes but you can see video of the second yellow card and I'm sure you will change your mind.
