Some might call me crazy for saying this, but I'd sell Alves and keep Mascherano. Montoya would be the first choice RB, Adriano would be the backup for both LB and RB, and if he's injured (which is true most of the time), then Mascherano can be the backup RB.

Adriano is too injury prone to be relied upon, don't you think? Alves, on the other hand, is tough as nails.

I wouldn't be happy to see him go, but if we're getting a CB (and we most likely are), there won't be much space for Mascherano in the future. It would be logical to cash in on him while we still can.

only in comparison with the bad Pique,Puyol that doesnt play too much,and the unxperienced Bartra but thats doesnt say much to me.situation is really bad and Mascherano only looks good cause of the others are bad.Its about time to move on and stop with Mascherano at CB
