14 - Javier Mascherano

The decisions Mascherano makes are not only questionable, most of the time they're downright absurd. He should never ever be allowed to play as a defender again. I hate to overreact, but sometimes he just does things that only a freaking moron could do. And howdy to y'all who ridiculed me weeks ago for saying that Masche IS NOT a centre back.

He has been the best CB at the club these last couple of seasons.

He has not been in good form this season but neither have many of the players.

With forever-off-form-Pique, 79-minutes-a-season-Bartra, cancer-patient-Abidal, no-knees-left-Puyol, glass-muscles-Adriano and what-I-am-doing-here-Song as the competition, Sebastian Giovinco would easily be the best CB.

And just for the record, I feel like shit for having to make a caricature of some of our other players (most notably Abidal) to make a point.

Dont get me wrong Abidal was the best of the lot when fit.

But if you are trying to make out Mascherano has been a poor CB at Barca then I cannot agree with that at all.

Oh, I agree that during a certain period he was the best among our CBs, it's true. However, that's not the case anymore. And my point was that it's not hard to be the best when your competition is absolutely dreadful or non-existent.

Last season he was the best of the lot and the majority of the worst defensive performances when teams broke through at will he was missing.

Bayern x2, PSG at home, away to Milan, home to Madrid etc.

I agree he has not been good this season altough the protection they get at CB from the full backs and CM has pretty much been none existant.

Anyway, been through all this before.

Please just go to Benitez and make room for an actual defender. So freaking pissed that this guy takes Bartra's place. Hoofed the ball away without even looking numerous times today, which eventually also led towards Athletic's goal.
I was so excited when we signed him because I loved to watch him play but this man is a disaster at centre back.

What do you make of Masch's comments?
"Mascherano: "The atmosphere around the team is very negative, even when we win, so it's our duty to be positive and show personality."

Does he mean the press?

Guess he means what Tata called the "weekly crisis". Tbf he didn't seem too happy in most of his comments in the past few weeks and months, I wouldn't be surprised if he really did leave soon.
