They are talking on ssn as if Liverpool will accept 12 million , can't see it myself.

He is left out of the squad for tonights game though , will be interesting.

12 million+Hleb+Caceres isn't far off considering Mascherano wants to leave badly and we're the only club in the running to sign him.

If they consider him to be worth more than that, they'll reject the offer and we'll make a higher bid. It's always been this way, are you new to football?

Ya that'd be a good deal for Pool, more options in defence and midfield, and money to put another striker?? Good deal for all parties imo.

Do an Arsenal and just say no , it's no big deal .
i don't think Mascherano is worth less than 30 Mil and i don't rate him but
1- he wants to leave for whatever reason (wife, lost hope in winning anything , club future ..etc )
2- the big boys except City has a gentleman agreement not to overspend and drive the market up again cause no one can
everyone acted reasonable this summer .. so those 20 Mil could probably be 40 is this deal was concluded last summer

they can't just say no, however, because badger is much more of a twonk than cesc and has much less loyalty to liverpool. rumour has it he's already told woy he won't play again to try and force the issue. I think we'll end up paying €20m or thereabouts.

why don't you rate mascherano, btw? don't think I've seen you say that before.

Mascherano basically held Argentina together all by himself, while the rest just ran about aimlessly. He is very good.

You said we are stooping low. Not really, we are just the same as all the rest.

That's point one , you aren't more than a club in that case ?. Point two , it's fine making a low bid , ( i accept every club wants to get the lowest price possible on any given player ). However , the point i was making was this , that first bid was a bid that Barca knew wasn't near to being accepted , this isn't a bid , it is just to purely unsettle OUR player , we pay his wages , and alas he refuses to play tonight.

So we are suppose to pay more for a player when we know we can get him at a cheaper price?

don't be silly.

no supprise they rejected £12m, they bought him for more than that, i even think the offer is pathetic to be honest

How do you know that? 12million + Hleb + Caceres is a reasonable bid, Caceres and Hleb together is worth 10-15 million imo and 22-27 million is just about how much Mascherano is worth, considering the fact that he's stated publicly that he wants to leave, Liverpool aren't in a good position for challenging for any major trophies this season, he only has 2 years left on his contract, and we're the only club that's trying to sign him.

Point one: We are ''More than a club''. This means we are a club, just like any other, but also more. More meaning that it represents the local region and people and is a good ambassador for those. We also like using our youth system and giving local youngsters a chance.

Point two: He was already wanting to leave. Then we made a bid. We saw he was unsettled, and saw the chance to come in with a low starting offer.
