Absolutely incredible signing. Stunning even.

You just know if Barto was in charge he'd spend the next 6-7 months trying to sign De Ligt for 80m while some other smart club got Christensen on a free.

We here!

It'd be Bayern for sure, especially considering they were the ones also interested. Would be that another typical Bayern shrewd signing, while we'd still be looking at both Lenglet and Pique in our back line next season.

Araujo will be fine.

We will be able to offer him money seeing as Umtiti, Lenglet and Pique will all be gone either this upcoming summer or next.

Good signing and for free. Now we need to sign a full back. Not sure which side is priority.

What's the deal with Christensen at Chelsea? I don't watch Chelsea much; I've seen him here and there for Denmark/Chelsea, but never quite understood why he never made it at Chelsea. I mean he's competing against an aging Thiago Silva and some upcoming talents like Chalobah (aside from Rudiger ofc), so I would have thought he'd fit in quite well between these players, if he was really that big of a talent.

Of course, we are not at the level of Chelsea, so a player not good enough for them can be more than good enough here, especially as a defender, given our joke of a backline. But yeah, it's curious.

Did not make it at Chelsea?

Uhm, even now, when Tuchel has expressed his disappointment that Christensen has not signed a new contract, he is still playing. Granted, he was not one of Lampard's absolute favorites, but he is certainly one of Tuchel's, and Christensen has overall been excellent for Chelsea.

I shake my head at some of the comments in this thread - Christensen is superb and highly desired. Will he work at Barca? I don't know, but he is a wonderful player with exceptional ball playing skills for a back. He is calm and intelligent and reads the game very well.

As a Danish nat. team fan I hope he comes to Barca - I will be very happy to see him leave Abramovich' Chelsea, even though Chelsea has been very succesful.

Watched today's game against Newcastle. Christensen's passing is so so good. No wonder Xavi likes him. Especially when he's available on a free, would, hopefully will be an amazing free signing. On par with Garcia's passing, but Christensen is obviously also so much quicker and more physical, he actually has the body for top level football, he can actually bully opponents with his presence alone, plus he's much more experienced on the biggest stage from both Chelsea and Denmark. Combine that with Araujo raw defensive ability, we might have one hell of a new CB pair on our hands. He can become a worthy Pique replacement.

He's the profile that Barcelona seem to yearn.

I think he was linked a few years back when he wasn't a regular for Chelsea and few here wanted him (same with Rudiger). But perception has changed with Tuchel Chelsea.

Will be a very good signing if he doesn't return to injury problems. Renewing Araujo and going from Lenglet, Umtiti, Pique, Araujo, Eric to Christensen, Pique, Araujo, Eric (then Mingueza or a B guy as 5th) is a shrewd move.

Pique goes in 2023 and you got Koulibaly, Skriniar for free or the 2024 expiring big hitters like De Ligt and Kounde to negotiate for.

That's probably the end goal, Kounde or De Ligt next summer.
