16 - Fermín López

Too soon, he was training and playing the whole time since last season. He had one week of rest before Euros and a week now. He won't last long, this season will be full of injuries for him, idiots!

Before insulting, use your head for a few seconds at least.

First of all, he played 43 games last season, far from Pedri's 70+ insane season. And in many of these games not more than 20-30 minutes. In total 2000 minutes, that's 22 full games. A low number in total for today's time and not in risk of any injury, even if you add his olympics games. In comparison, Lamine played 3000 minutes with 16.

Secondly, he's already 21 years old, doesn't have an unstable teenager body that still grows.

Thirdly and most important, it's his own decision. The club doesn't force anything. He doesn't want to miss the start with the new coach. His fear is understandable, because we have many options in his position and after that summer, he has the ambition to play more.

All 3 things combined it's perfectly acceptable to let him start the season. He won't reach too many games this season anyways given his competition, especially when Gavi starts to play.

He didn't play Pedri's insane season but he played a lot and the main thing is that he trained a lot without having any break. You don't get tired just from the games but mainly from trainings and Fermin is traning non stop for more than a year without any real break.

He'll play a lot this season too (if he stays healthy), Pedri&Olmo will be in the hospital soon where Gavi and FDJ wait for them. Wouldn't be surprised if a healthy Fermin has the most minutes of all our our midfielders this season.

Flick has ALOT of options in midfield. The reason Fermin stands out is GOALS. He is the best finisher in the team besides Lewandoski. He makes those runs into the box and can score in many ways. His first touch, passing and positioning are a bit raw at the moment but with time and coaching should get better.
I'd be very surprised if Flick overlooked him.

Stick him at LW inverted with Balde providing width. Won't happen but still

Interesting how things turned out. He could be our key player for few months. Crazy.. Nobody saw this coming one year ago.

What a year for him.

Well deserved though. He's been excellent.
We should hold our horses. The faster we hype him, the taller he'll fall. He's a hard working lad, not Lamine level of talent. He will lose balls, have bad finishes. We need to have patience and see where he will be at the end of the season. It's far to early to talk about a key player role.
We can't forget that he didn't play at the Euros and olympics is somewhat 2nd division level with some first division players. Let's see how he does under Flick.

Pur some respect on his name and start subbing him in earlier.

Looked good the last two games he played.
He should be Olmo's main sub or start as the 10 in games Olmo either misses or plays a different role. We should all love Fermin guys a baller
