Remains to be seen how his progress is gonna be. To be the main man, he sure needs to add goals to his game. Very low on that key metric so far. Impossible to match a player like Salah without scoring a lot of goals. Or maybe not impossible, but very hard still.
Salah been comfortably best right winger in the world over the last 5 years.

Lamine strikes the ball very well. Salah scored 20 for Basel in 79 games as a 20-22 year old

I remember Salah’s prominence at Basel quite well, he was a crazy Messi-like spark plug who could get past a marker with ease. He would’ve had A LOT more goals but he wasn’t ever a regular starter at Basel, not sure why really - regularly was a late sub, so I figured he didn’t have the gas to last 90

Lamine has better passing, dribbling, control, first touch, decision making, technique, playmaking, crossing and long range shooting than Salah.
Salah has better finishing.
I could accept that those that didn't watch Lamine every week, would follow the marketing line and rate the EPL player higher, but didn't expect Barca fans, who have the benefit of an extended eye test, to do the same.
Salah gets rated higher because he does it in the ' best league in the world ' but that league doesn't have the ultra low block, constant tactical fouling, time wasting and general shithousery defending that Lamine has to face every week.
It's absolutely obvious who is the better player.

Salah is great and absolutely a more polished finisher now, at 32 but he was already 20 at Basel. So comparisons with Lamine on finishing are myopic, by the time Yamal is 20 he will have won at least one BdO never mind highlight just how special he is at finishing

Considering Salah is basically twice lamine’s age that’s crazy.
Yeah it is but Salah is also not in his prime anymore.

Imagine having Yamal and Nico in the same team. If we would only have someone to finish off all the chances they'll create.
Grimaldo with 15 assists is also insane. I guess Frimpong is not far behind him either. Xabi's system is just made for offensive wingbacks.

Age is irrelevant if people are comparing 17 year old Yamal with prime Salah. There seems to be this crazy rush to push Yamal as elite already. Not there yet. There's a small chance he could be a huge talent able to climb stages at a blitzing pace, but it's a small possibility and comes with its own traps and dangers.
