Both Frenkie and Pedri seem to identify with the club. I don't think they would want to leave and neither could we improve the team by selling them.

Dont agree.

Can always improve the team as a whole and go for the players to rebuild a bit.

Next summer would be surprised if FDJ does not want to leave.

It's gambling, it can work (like Coutinho for Liverpool), but I don't think the odds would be in our favour. Generally this season will decide whether we are an exciting, young project or a trainwreck.

Gambling against what though?

FDJ staying and being pissed off at team well below his level and not able to make moves to possibly improve squad overall.

Particularly for Pedri IF Gavi and/or Demir show level could be ready to cover him leaving.

Gambles are what is going to be needed.

Not that Frenkie showed any signs of getting pissed, he looks determined to succeed here. But we will see how this season turns out. After that we can talk drastic measures or just smaller changes.

For the record. I don't see how this can be true. Given the past two transfer windows, the numbers just don't add up.

Probably an opportunity to give optimism that there will be transfer funds available in the future, and a chance to use some of that Catalan sentiment that the socio's adore.

Still a long time to go, but if he really is our primary target for next summer and someone we're willing to spend 50-60m on then you can just shut down the club already.

Dani Olmo will arrive at Bar?a in 2022.

The player will take a significant reduction in salary. Everything is very advanced but they have to negotiate if the player will arrive in the winter or summer market. [@mariagarridos]

Stunning.

Olmo will be a Bar?a player in 2022. Everything is very advanced and only the last details are left to be closed. It is still to be seen if he?ll arrive in the winter or the summer window. The player?s salary will also be much lower than his current one

hm what if they didn't sign poor Depay, Aguero (and even Garcia) and let Messi sign a new contract before it ran out on 50%, and then sold or got rid of Greasy, Umtiti, Lenglet and a few more with decent wages. Maybe Messi could've stayed? I wonder if they couldn't put some of the terrible Bartomeus losses on this season instead, making the hill to climb a bit less steep? No need to do the old tricks, Bartomeu showed his incompetence so clearly, even his allies hated him... But Messi should've stayed and my feeling is Laporta could've done more.

Olmo is much more of a constructive option for the club than Depay or de Jong though

Brilliant ball control, dribbling in small spaces and excellent first touch when receiving the ball.

I would look at him in the position of an attacking midfielder, but you have to sacrifice one of the pair of Pedri and FDY.

Pedri is only 19, he is definitely a talented player, but he doesn't attack much and dribbles for an attacking midfielder.
