He didnt give up money.. it made sense for him to leave and he was long done and offering absolutely nothing that season anyway.

If anything the decision made financial sense for him and his dodgy conflict of interest contracts with the league.

Laporta just wasted money by crying to him and asking him to stay when clearly was over.

Then folk held up him as some champion when he quit and barely gave much up at all from Barca.. money he should never have been getting anyway.

Also it was a political move by Pique not only a financial one... all with his own best interests at heart of them.

Pique through Rakuten put Barca and them in touch and it was a deal that Barca valued in the market.

Nothing was saved and Barca made the decision once speaking with them... Pique had nothing to do with the figures agreed.
