3 weeks off, then have to ease him in meaning another week or two at half intensity, almost the whole season at this point.
Sorry but if this continues next season this has been a waste of money.
It does not have to extend till next season. It was a panic buy. A stupid one at that only a club like Barcelona could pull. There was a reason Olmo was never wanted by any other top team(ignore all those press noises about other clubs bejng interested) No club with capable management sees a player that is only available for a quater of the season and pulls the trigger to spend 60m+ salaries, even if that player was Messi. You have to be ran and managed by dafts if you were broke and needed to increase your debts to get a damaged player you knew everyone else avoided because of his injury history.
If broke Barca spent 60m for a generational talent, I could understand that but doing so for an average player that would only be available for 30%/40% of the time is criminal. Surely, even some eyes will be pooped out in some quarters if you spent such on a Messi that is a genius but broken by injuries.
There are a lot here Barcaforum that have tried to justify his signing with the need to push Gundo out because of age and form, which does not even sound reasonable if you weigh having to replace a player that would be available to you all season with
the one younger but never available for 60m while you have to renegotiate salaries of your employees to stay solvent. Going on a long tortuous journey with a mule is a much wiser one than relying on a lame stallion for same.
It gets worse when you hear that Barca were offered some fantastic talents like Desire Doue for a fraction of what was spent on Olmo. Sorry, no other way to spin this. It is a classic example of buffonery. Not like Olmo has been pulling out trees in all the few matches he was avaliable anyways.
Player is made of glass. All wise clubs avoided for a reason except Barca.
