He's old and he is rarely fit. We won a treble with Bartra playing the 3rd/4th role just fine with Vermaelen not able to play even a single game. He doesn't do anything for the squad but shove Bartra out of it.

There was a reason for his acquisition, LE knew that had Bartra when they made an acquisition. He is not older than Mattheu and the injuries could be thing of past. At the end of the day is Lucho decision what is the priority of Bartra.

The reason for the acquisition was that when healthy Verm is world class CB and pefect fit for Barca (great both on and off ball). It was high risk/hig reward signing.People were bitching about the signing but if it works out we might get top CB just for 10 mil.

The reason for his signing was that the club failed to sign Marquinhos(was destined to fail since he plays for PSG, but they don't ever learn do they?)

As for him being World Class when being fit then I don't think I've even heard Arsenal or Belgium fans say that, but maybe he can turn it around here if he stays fit.
