24 - Thomas Vermaelen

Have we actually needed to pay more than the 10m upfront? Are we actually gonna recover the 10m we paid for him?

Is this real life or fantasy

"Giallorossi President James Pallotta has been open about the fact that the defence needs to be strengthened, with Antonio Rüdiger sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury."

So they are going to fill that gap by signing one of the worst injury prone players of all time instead? Well, good luck to them. I am not complaining. Just get rid of this guy ASAP and permanently!

Miguel Rico says Vermaelen, isn't leaving for less than 10-11 Million euros.

No loans with option to buy, it's 10-11 Million and that's it.

I haven't followed Roma's transfer moves too closely, but I did read they loaned out Leandro Castan. Maybe they'll look to replace him with Vermaelen if they haven't brought anyone else in already.

Yes, and they need replacement for Rüdiger who is injured and out until December or so. But they are apparently very close to sign Juan Jesus and are also interested in Nacho from RM so I'm affraid Vermaelen is not in their plans anymore. If he ever was and their supposed interest wasn't just pure BS from Sport. Maybe Inter will try to buy him now to replace Jesus. I've read that West Ham is interested too and they are the prefered destination of Vermaelen (or at least that he prefers to go back to EPL over moving to Serie A) but I've talk to one West Ham fan I know and he said they are not looking to sign any CB. So really, who knows what will happpen. I'd gladly take whatever we can get for him before he get injured again.

Juan Jesus to Roma is as good as done.
