As he should.

FDJ/Bernal to rotate the deeper pivot spot when de Jong returns in 2026.

Of course.. and it also allows FDJ to play more of his role with Bernal if see fit and need to rest likes of Pedri.

There should be a lot more rotation when all back.

When he comes back, he just needs to learn 1 things from bernal, busquets, rodri.

Just pass the ball and keep it simple, pass and move, you don't need to run all the way to the moon and back with the ball everything single time.

He passes the ball and moves more than anyone in the team and has some of the most progressive stats with most through balls in La Liga the past 4 years.

Impossible if dally on the ball as much as some make out.

Some folk are overly impressed by players just passing quickly to first man see open all the time it seems.

Frenkie just has no positional sense... that's all. Bernal does, but who knows how good he really is.

His positional sense is not as bad as made out and much better than others... hence why picked there.

His interception rate etc is very good and he won the ball back the 3rd most in team last season while being dribbled less than other midfielders.

Just is not a natural sitting DM.. but others are worse at it so plays there.

Anyways, need Frenkie back so we aren't forcing the kid.

I really like how in one or two touches he can ping a quick vertical pass past the press. Helps that the three 4 in front are making a ton of movement.

Have to see how he does in games where he is pressed harder. Valverde knew the Pedri threat and was very tight on him leaving Bernal more free (Pedri was incredible under pressure btw).

Let's see how he is when he gets targeted for mistakes like Oriol was. But again saying that, only 2nd game of season, but the team is working hard to give outlets.

Lewa congratulating him at end shaking head in disbelief and looking at him saying 'bueno'.. 'bueno' was nice to see.

Something feels different between Lewa and youngsters this season.. easy when winning and he is scoring though!

Idk if we had alot more gems other than Thiago back in the day but it seems like we either really do have a new golden generation or playing time is really just that much of a stimulant to player growth.

Didn't even realize but this cat is the tallest player on our team. Could even grow more given he is still only 17.

Need that flick cellular technology fitness regimen and he can become our next Yaya Toure.

Really hoping La Masia can do us a solid in letting us have a good pivot.

The trend is the last couple of managers we had brought up someone who ended up sticking with the first team, who knows Bernal could very well end up being Flicks.

Bernal today put in a great performance but teams are ragged right now. Once they get tape on him and Flicks system they will expose his flaws. Nobody wants to talk flaws after today though. He was amazing for sure! But it will happen when the real tests start coming.

We have yet to see any teams sit back in a low low block and test the positional sense. Valencia and Bilbao both came to fight.

Frenkie will take that 8 spot I hope. With him driving out of the double pivot he can cause mayhem. Frenkie as a 6 I am not so sure about that. One thing is for sure is we actually have depth on its way. Pedri can rest and Frenkie plays 8 and then vice versa. Bernal plays 6 I think even when Frenkie comes back. Casado odd man out. Gavi probably becomes a false LW press demon. But then again he is another 8 in my eyes that can rotate in safely after his ACL.

Barca midfield is in good good hands.
