Can't get a break. Got rid of Cancelo who was a shite defender, but this guy is not much better defensively either. In CL you need to be strong defensively, because you face quick wingers that can exploit defensive blunders.

It is not enough to be good in attack if you can't carry your shit in defense too and need babysitting. He has a lot of improving to do in this area.

He isn't even good in attack. He's worse in attack then his already bad defense. If he was slower he would be a secunda player

You really think Flick implemented everything he wants to already? With the coaching staff around him, with players back from injury, with the physical training needed under his system, with getting the tactics down to a T (with one man down), with defense, with set pieces etc etc etc. Of course not, far from. He needs to see his players (of which half are injured) against better teams like yesterday and make adjustments to the tactics from the material he has and so on. I just hope he doesn't make the same mistakes he made yesterday and that he has some balls to bench "big name" players if they suck week in and week out.

Holds the ball too much for some reason and very little productivity
Flick should wait for him a few chances more and if he doesn't improve, then try Fort on his position. Fort is not that much younger than him either way.

Never been a fan of him. He seems like one of those players whose decision making / IQ will never improve. He's been with the first team for a while now and I've seen no progress whatsoever.

He's always making the wrong decision , his crosses are hit and hope and mostly crap , his intelligence for smart interplay on the edge of the box is non existent.

Defensively I think he's mediocre at best , and his pace helps him cover up space. Not saying he's great but he most definitely isn't the 'good attack but shit defense' kind of player - he's shit attack and mediocre at best defense.

We really need TWO new LBs but unfortunately given our circumstances I think we're stuck with him and Martin /fort.
