4 - Ronald Araújo

lol at people saying he has to prove himself.
He is a starter for quite some time now and he is easily our best defender being only 23 years old.
The perfect modern defender and future captain material.

Lol, everyone's fighting for their interests but I'd say it again "hell be stupid to renew for a salary of 4m or less", passion doesn't pay the bills and he's got offers right now.

4 million does not pay the bills?

The whole 'paying the bills' line is stupid.
They get ludicrous amount of money compared to a lay man.

It has to do with acknowledgment, and recognition of certain status in the team and in the dressing room

Xavi said he expect both Araujo and Gavi to end up renewing so both will stay and we'll offer terms that suits for both.

It's not like Araujo is demanding something crazy like Dembele and Moussa Sissoko. He just want to be paid on the same level as Pedri which is fair IMO given his importance, age and ceiling(top five cb itw imo)

I know they earn massively, but its different jobs with different salaries, and each individual has to know when they're not given their worth and move on. For Araujo, its clear that he can easily earn a salary of 5-6m in many clubs so he should better make a decision with his head n not passion

Should he decide to leave for a better offer abroad, he would also have to contend with adapting to new culture and language. Leaving for more money isn?t always as cut and dry as it may seem. Besides, one shouldn?t assume that clubs abroad would be willing to pay him that much more than what we are offering. Liverpool, for example, pays its best players around 10m per season. Araujo is just starting out.

It would create tension if he were paid more than Fati and Pedri who are undoubtedly bigger talents than Araujo.

They offered him something around 3-4m which is less than what Fati earns, and there's also the age factor. They only said that they won't offer him more than what Fati earns to probably tell him what to expect in their next offer

Is he fucking Injured again

Reduce the offer by a milli

He was not removed due to injury.

The thing is, he's terrible with the ball.

The Galatasaray players did not meet him when he moved forward with the ball knowing that he did not understand what to do with the ball.

And here is the confirmation of my words.

Xavi: "Araujo's ball playing needs a lot of work. He has to understand that when he has the ball, he has to move forward until an opponent jumps in to find the man free. These are habits that need to be generated, and it is not easy. This is a process".

From the 1st whistle you could see Dom set Gala up to let Araujo move forward with the ball, hoping to catch him out of possession or force a turnover in their own half and take advantage on the counter. Ron was the only Barca player unmarked with the ball, that tells you everything & like Xavi said he has to learn how to release the ball under pressure as a result

I wouldn't go above 5m. If he has better offers then that then fair enough. Get 30m in the summer and try to find another one who won't have to be paid what he isn't worth.

He needs to improve big time if he wants wages worthy of one of the best CBs in the world.

And the club would surely renew him on better wages in 2 or 3 years if he develops and becomes one of the best.

The ones saying we should give him anything he wants can do one. That's why we ended up with a massive, bloated wage bill in the first place.
