We have only seen him play one game under Flick and that was against 4th division team. In my opinion we should see more. After the Super Cup, at least, should the discussions be even considered if they want to do it. Before that nothing. And Araujo should play both of games in the Supercup (assuming we win Bilbao ofc).

He is obviously a very good player and will improve any team he signs for, but we have to see how he fits in Flick's system and then decide what to do with him. Because if we sell before that, we might as well deeply regret it one day.

When Kounde gets 13m Gross in his first contract at Barca, when he is 20 times worse than Araujo in all respects and positions, and Araujo only got a renewal of 6m Gross back in 2022, when he was already hailed as the most important defender, I would not jump to accuse him and his agent for wanting more...

Italy have a very lenient tax regime for foreign players. They could offer less than us and he'll be taking home more money.

Basically 50% tax almost in Catalunya to 26-30% in Italy for foreign players.

Araujo has been underpaid pretty much from day dot by Barca, and he certainly comes across as someone who is desperate to stay at the club. If he does leave, I am more inclined to blame the Sporting Department than him.

He may even be asking for a slightly higher contract than ' normal' to reimburse him for the underpaid years, which the club may see as unreasonable. I don't think that would be unreasonable either.

The only leg to stand on for those that want to sell him is his injury record, but I don't think there is enough evidence to suggest he will be perennially injured his whole career, yet.

A generational defender like him needs to be given every chance to turn it around. You just can't lose players with his talent. If he is sold it would be a new World Record in absurdity from our Special Olympics Sporting Department. Laporta would also have to take a share of the blame and would lose a big part of my support.

Losing Don Araujo would do true damage and hurt the club, unlike the hysteria created by the Olmo registration debacle, which will blow over fairly quickly.
