The best thing about us having a good batch of young midfielders (while everything else in Barcelona is shit) is that they get to be coached by Xavi.

IMO, midfields are what make a CL winning team, followed by defense - GK unit, and then attack.

Curious to see him with Pedri. They seem similar somehow, but also different. Will take some work to fit both, but I hope it will be possible to find a working formula.

Ability of the players is far more relevant than those lot around to teach them the position.

How many young midfielders thrived at Barca under the teachings of those players before last summer and this season?

What will get most out of those players is time to develop and a system to suit them much more than wise words from veterans.

For me regarding him:

elite skills:
- movement and positional awareness
- first touch
- close ball control
- stamina and energy

good skills:
- short-range passing
- speed and acceleration
- through balls
- defensive contribution

weak points:
- long-range passing, switches of play could be improved especially
- shooting (hard to see how weak it is because he avoids shooting)
