Rarely, but if Gomes is okay with moving and Liverpool see him as a decent CM option, then it's a decent offer don't you think?
Kill two birds with one stone.
TBH I would take that deal at this stage, yeah

Eto'o and Zlatan is the most famous one. Any others?
Player swaps never happen, though, do they?
Dudes, our midfield looks like a wrecked methhead, everybody who saw us play in the CL last year figured that out...
There is no reason to look for excuses... we need this guy or else we're fuc.
I was very close to changing it, Until that transfer request came and saved me at the last minute, Close call! From what Ive seen RAWK is much worse. If Neymar handled his transfer request and someone bid ABOVE his realistic worth, I would pack his bags myself.
Garrus did you put Carvajals image as avatar? Lol
I still believed, there is no way he doesnt want to go to Sunny barcelona instead of playing in Liverpool and carry the team to 4th place in Prem.I was very close to changing it, Until that transfer request came and saved me at the last minute, Close call!
Its over. Dembele is in basement and waiting for Cou so we can double up PSG!I just don't see how Liverpool could possibly keep him now.
Sky, who originally reported the transfer request, are running with the story that he's angry with Klopp and the relationship between them is broken.
His request can strengthen our hand at the negotiation table and soften FSG's stance. Kloppo has to weigh up the cons of keeping a potentially unhappy player who has made up his mind to leave. It's a question of commitment to club, and if the players has decide to move on, the logical thing is to allow him to. It's similar to the Torres situation when Liverpool was adamant he would stay.
The situations are not comparable. They knew Torres was a declining player that they thought they had a replacement for, and even then it took a British transfer record to get it done. How can letting Coutinho leave now possibly help Liverpool? They're never going to be able to get anyone in in time even if they had a replacement lined up, which they don't. They'd be crazy to sell unless there's seriously crazy money on the table. If I were them I wouldn't even pick up the phone unless £130m+ was being offered.
I don't think keeping him will help their cause either. They run the risk of keeping a player that isn't fully concentrated, committed or motivated to be with the club anymore and wants out. The transfer request he submitted explicitly implies that. Common sense dictates that the best thing for LFC to do right now is sit and negotiate a fair deal with FCB and allow Phil to leave.
