Let's see. Coutinho has played three or four games:

First game he came in as a sub and looked really good combining with the team and should have had an assist

Second game he played on the right and was isolated. Not as a RW, but as a RM which isn't his position.

Third game today played at a water polo arena where almost every single player on the team couldn't control the ball and kept losing it. Still had a couple of great involvements and a shot hitting the bar.

Some perspective is needed here which you're lacking right now.

And he's fresh after an injury, which you can see that he's not exactly there physically.

If his shot had dropped 2 cm's, everybody would have named him MOM today. He is excellent on the ball and already combines well with his teammates. He will not disappoint. As to best position, he should definitely play on the left side of the field.
