8 - Pedri

If that's any consolation every top club has these stories of rejecting kids who go on to become top players.

It isn't because you never want to be on the end of that lol
And obv not all have these sorts of tekkers at this age

You sound like you guys were actually in contention to sign him. His family literally lead the Barca Penya in Tenerife

And you sound insecure that we might have? Or afraid of some suggestion that his heart is elsewhere? Dont even know what to make of it TBH
Family affiliations dont have to mean anything, like they dont with Haaland who really only showed more affection towards Leeds
Not even being questioned that he preferred one place over another, just that at that time in his career he was close to Madrid and career could have gone very different
Hence annoyed he's now on his way to be a Barca legend when there was real chance it worked out differently

It's not that deep dude.

Besides not like you'd help him with managers like Ancelotti.

He was like 14 back then no? They also rejected Neymar if I'm not wrong. That happens all the time. We've probably rejected a few players like that too.

Point is that when he was bursting to the scene in Las Palmas they had no chance to sign him as long as we made an offer.

tbh he was playing in Segunda already at 16. That scout must have been blind

Why did their parents sent him for trials there, if they're basically running Barca fanclub?

A lot of the times there is connections when it comes to those trials.
Probably a scout knew him and was connected to RM and gave him the chance for that trial.
We got him that way, Las Palmas knew he is big and preferred to send him to big club to get more money, one of their executives is friend of Planas, invited him to see the kid and make an offer and the rest is history

The goal was something else and shows the kid has a genius factor in him. I don't think there is another midfielder right now who can do that.

Xavi on Pedri: "I encourage him to shoot. He always has the pass in his head, the next pass, the last pass, he's a passer. It's something that happened to me as well. But he can shoot, today he scored a great goal."

Imagine this guy in 5 years time. Bulks up a bit and adds more shooting power and accuracy from distance. He'll be better than Modric.

Better than Modric? If he keeps this up for another 10 years, he can reach Xaviesta levels, remember they were nowhere near the first team, let alone playing like the best CM in the world at age 19.

Waiting for the many here who trashed Pedri time and time again the last 1+ year,
to come out and admit they were dumb

Last season he was used in a different way. He was poor man's Rakitic. Work horse running around. Now he can flourish and actually use his skills.

Pointless to even compare.
