Its as if the team think as long as they keep the ball Messi will eventually produce a bit of magic. But constant slow passing and looking for Messi in the wrong areas is killing the game as teams know what they want to do.

More variety will help everyone in these types of games. Messi included.

That's on the coach. Players look lost and don't know what to do, so they turn to the best player of the team.

I am saying giving it to Messi so often helps no one. Messi included as teams no exactly what Barca want to do.

Who else is taking it upon themselves to start plays and bring service? Hardly anyone and hardly effectively. I'd agree with you if the team was succeeding elsewhere but still overplaying Messi. But this is not the case. If Messi is not the one bringing quality service to Suarez, who will?

It is on the coach absolutely. But it has been an issue for the most part of the last three seasons.

Its not helping the team at all. Its all too predictable.

Far too over reliant in giving ball to Messi and hoping things happen.

What service is Messi bringing to Suarez?

Playing like this Suarez is getting next to no service at all from anyone.

Midfield is totally fractured and cannot make plays with each other to unlock the forwards. This is not because they've open parts of the field for Messi, but because the way they've been asked to play has them all separated and isolated.

Messi is dropping deeper and deeper, and as opposed to the past he'd do it to join in the collective midfield play, now he is doing it to START the plays from deep because no one is doing that. He's not looking to play with others in midfield, but looking to drive forward and play with the other forwards.

Messi is the one trying layoffs with Suarez. That's how Suarez is seeing most of the balls, with layoffs with the other forwards. There is not midfield play to unlock throughballs to forwards. It is up to the forwards to play with each other to create.

Lucho is bypassing the midfield since day one, in favor of the fb's. In one game or two this changed, now it's back at it. Alba today made bad decisions thru out the game.
Wth the lack of good systems, we'll keep seeing that happen, sadly.

Suarez barely got the ball in good areas at all the whole match apart from once or twice in first half.

There is no way this system is playing anywhere near Suarez strengths and Messi isnt changing that. Not that its Messis fault.

And this is easier for the opposition to neutralize. It's really sad to see.

He isnt bypassing midfield in favour of full backs. The full backs are just providing the width now and higher.

Huge parts of the game are still dominated by the central midfield and its all too slow and predictable.

People saying Suarez isn't getting any service, yet at Liverpool last season he didn't get much service but still created something out of nothing.

When you've got such a fracture midfield of course your CF is going to be starved of service. Like I said, if it isn't the forwards playing with each other, they are not going to get balls at all. Midfield is creating almost nothing for them. It has nothing to do with Messi.
