9 - Robert Lewandowski

He’ll get clowned versus Bayern.

It’s a great start but he’s been feasting on the weak teams. Need this tractor to produce the goods in the big games.
Well let's be fair, he's been terrific and also to play like this at the old age of 36 is brilliant.

Flick clearly knows how to get the best out of him and the system currently seems to work far better for him.

There is no doubt the physical preparation of the team has improved in general which helps him shoulder less of the burden with regards to pressing.

So far, he hasn't been great in the big games with us, I guess he has been a bit of a flat track bully but that isn't a bad thing. Somehow this season feels very different as the team is not grinding out results but dominating, so perhaps we will be able to attack much better against the top teams now.

Temp is doing cart wheels right now lol

If a 37 year old wins the league & CL it's a given he will win the Golden ball.

But that's not happening.......maybe

Last season at this point he had 10 goal contributions, 6 goals 4 assist.

Now he's on 14.

40% improvement, but clearly the issue if you go back to his very first season, isn't starting the season, 3 season, three very good starts, it's the tail end of it.

Let's hope he continues like this into the business end of the season.

Wow I thought it would be a big improvement on last season but now that I look he had a pretty good start last year too only to fizzle out.

At least Flick knows he needs to manage his minutes. Madrid and Bayern will be great tests. Remember how he had a few great chances at Allianz last time we went there and scored 0.

Yamal or even Raphinha would probably be ahead of him if that happens (it won't). He's not the main guy of this team.

But credit where credit is due, very good start to the season for a 36 year old player, he probably aged better than CR7 and will be useful in La liga. We'll see how he does against Bayern and Madrid.

Flick understands that he needs to keep him fresh for the important games as well. He substituted him already 4 times in the first 9 games, while Xavi subbed him only once against Mallorca at that point last season.
I'm sure he'll do much better under Flick over the whole season.

meh.... 90% of the second goal (tap-in) is thanks to Rafinha. The third goal originates and is largely due to Casado's through pass to Cubarsi; the assist, and especially the goal, were the least difficult part.
This tap in narrative is so dumb. All the clubs in this world wish they had a striker who will find all those balls in 16 yards and bang them in with no problem. But most strikers don't. Lewa is experienced and knows how to perfectly position himself, when to be where and how to finish his chances.

He was world class in his first 3 months here and then went to shit after the World Cup.

Let's see if he does the same from now on.
Indeed. He was amazing his first season in the team until WC2022. Shots so many great goals as it should be Lewa level.

Lewa is only 3 goals away to become the third highest scorer in europa's top5 divisions (after ofc Messi/Ronaldo)🔥🔥

He deserves 1 more cl, only 1 cl in his career looks so poor, 2cls would be a nice number for his career 💯
