You guys made some good points. Lewy is a great striker with good technique, no doubt. But he cannot win matches on his own like Luisito did for Liverpool and Barca. Lewy reminds me of Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

I still think he is a bit overrated. An excellent finisher but... Bayern are a well-oiled machine. They dominate Bundesliga. Always. Whoever plays as their number 9 would get a shit-load of goals. Say someone like Edinson Cavani would easily goal 30+ a season playing for Bayern. Im not saying Cavani is better or equal to Lewandowski but... You give the Ballondor to the best player in the world right? Not someone who neccessarily won the most awards but who is the best player. Right? In previous years Messi won it deservedly. So did Ronaldo. Maybe in 2013 should have been Ribery, maybe. Lewandowski? I cant say with a straight face that he is a better footballer than Neymar, Mbappe, Benzema, Salah or Messi. He cannot do the goods that these fellows do. He is only a finisher. Nothing wrong with that but... The best player? Come on.

Yeah, he has done well in CL and it doesn't take anything away from that but let's face it Germany league defends poorly.

Open a Bayern forum before 2019, and most of their fans were criticizing him, calling him a choker, never showing up in big games, only against the minnows. He started scoring against everybody when Bayern became a powerhouse.

So yes, he is getting overrated. Aguero, Falcao, Benzema, Cavani, in their prime would score probably the same in this Bayern team. Prime Suarez for me will always be a level above Lewa, he would challenge Messi and Ronaldo numbers.

Prime Cavani was definitely a worse striker. Benzema is better all-around but a far worse finisher. Aguero, even at his prime, was always half-injured. Prime Suarez is arguably the better player but his peak was short compared to Lewa's longevity.

Half true, even in the periods last season and this season in which bayern didnt play on top level he didnt stop scoring. The Lewa from the last two years is different to the Lewa of pre 2019. I consider only peak Suarez above Lewa.
