Not really. Werner is a good player. He is young, hard-working and much pacier than Lewy. In Bayerns 4-2-3-1 he could be surprisingly effective as the lone striker who tracks back. Bayerns system doesnt necessarily need a phenomenal, world-class striker. Olic, Gomez and Mandzukic have proved that.

Werner finishing is crap.

Lol, yeah because they had peak Robben/Ribery on the wings. Normally Bayern needs also a great striker. We have seen how Bayern failed to win the first leg against PSG as Lewa was missing.

Lewandowski singlehandedly carried Bayern under Kovac.

Under Flick the entire unit worked as an ultra pressing team for the short term.

Under Nagelsmann its been very hit and miss.

Basically, the Bayern supporting cast is loaded with system players who can be a dud under the wrong system while they can be effective if used well.

Even the usually brilliant Kimmich looks suspect without Goretzka.

He is almost 34y old. Bayern should tell him to accept the renewal for 2 years max or he can fuck off. You need to be dumb to offer a 34y old player a long contract and Bayern management is anything but dumb. If he wants more money he can go to PSG or City. :D

34 years old Lewa would be great in LaLiga. If we can't get anyone else in summer, to me he is the best option. I don't see anyone else with his quality potentially available.

Sign him up.

We would need to get him next summer though, otherwise too late.

Because that Bayern had 2 absolutely legendary wingers in Robben and Ribery.
At Full Back they had Lahm and Alaba.

Except Davies none of the current positional correspondents have that level of ability.

Bayern are in for a shock when Lewandowski and Neuer leave/retire.

People overrating the Bayern supporting cast will get a massive reality check.

Good points. Gnabry, Sane and Goretzka arent in the same league as Robben, Ribery and Schweinsteiger?

First two? Not even close. Robbery were consistently top 5/10 players in the world.

Goretzka is amazing but very injury prone. Kimmich is half the player without Goretzka enforcing next to him.

And Lahm, an all time great was galaxies above Pavard and Sarr can ever be at RB

Bayern's core of Neuer-Kimmich-Muller-Lewa is fantastic but the rest of them are big downgrades from the Lahm,Ribery etc teams.

They lost a key player in Alaba too who helped with building from the back.

I do find Goreztka a little overrated individually if I'm honest, he had a fantastic season in 19/20 but he generally can blow hot/cold on the ball, does compliment Kimmich well though.

Kimmich and Goretzka complete each other.

Both are a tad underwhelming without the other. Very solid partnership together.

In a weird way they remind me of the double pivot at West Ham, Rice and Soucek.

Without Robert Bayern don't have the cutting edge or the X Factor in their team. His presence alone creates a shitload of space for the wingers to get their shots away.
