Agreed, one game is no true reflection oh how good or poor a team is. Leverkusen is better than that, and we are definitely better than what many Bayern fans think we are after the 7:0 defeat last season.

United were without RVP & Carrick arguably their best players bar Rooney & still beat them 5-0, if it was 1,2 or 3 goals I'd understand but by 5 goals at home should be avoided.

Bayern maybe kicking themselves in the foot here, surely the players will get bored winning every game in the league and if they get knocked of the CL in QF or round of 16 and there season is over. Competition is healthy. When you consider Man Utd 7th in PL beating Leverkusen 5-0 away just illustrates bar Bayern/BVB the quality in that league isn't great.

Madrid made you work hard however, your biggest rivals had the best squad in the world apart from you, which made it fun. Bayern will rarely have to perform at their best level.

Not too sure about that. He was THIS close to joining Bayern instead of BVB anyways. Also his Justin Bieber homeboy buddie Mario Götze is playing for Bayern as well. Remember the Schwein/Poldi love-birds?

Judging from what clubs he swooned over, you could just as well say he's headed for Barcelona or Arsenal... According to his agent he wasn't even as close to joining Bayern as some of the press made it seem, and his comments afterwards seemed a bit hostile ("I know what's true and what's not. We'll meet on the pitch"). In the end he chose BVB over Bayern, and now that he has several top clubs interested in him, I don't see why he'd chose Bayern over them. But anyway,

Schalke made it to the CL semis not too long ago. Not bad for an average team. Leverkusen thrashed Donezk this season. You think Donezk is such a shitty team as well? Since they lost 0-4 to Leverkusen and United have won 5-0 over Leverkusen, United would obviously have to win against the Ukrainians 9-0, making them the best team in the world. Oh, wait...

Twas their own undoing though regarding Lewandowski. The would have easily gotten 25 millions for him, which combined with the massive amount of money they got from the CL and for Götze, could have been used for a Lewandowski replacement. I don't think Lewandowski alone will secure them this much money in this season's CL, what a guy like Jackson Martinez (a realistic successor, I believe) couldn'T have done instead.
Ofc they would had to rebuild to an even greater extend than they already had to. But what they did was delay they inevitable, while making a bad business decision.
