Anti-everything
I know they are using this card in their argument about MAne's valuation.
But it's a totally unfounded claim:
- Mane is a forward, and forwards always cost more than midfielders
- Thiago was same age then as MAne is now
- Covid affected prices in 2020 and they didn't give them a bargain as they say, but simply accepted the market at the time of covid with significant deflation on all assets including players
- this line of 'giving favors' to 'get favors' in return is a huge ton of BS. No such conversations ever took place.
They were worried they are losing Thiago for free, they even made a public statement about it. Liverpool decided to offer something that they would take in fear of losing him for free
First statement is obviously not factual. That's more to due to the way the statement is made more than the intended meaning though so whatever.
Midfielders can generally play for much longer and at higher levels than pacey attackers that heavily rely on their physical attributes no? So having said that aren't older Midfielders worth more than older attackers generally speaking?
Bayern wanted more than the 20m they got for thiago in fact they wanted at least 50% more.
Bayern have allowed players to run down their contracts on multiple occasions so it's not unreasonable to beleive they they had taken the players wishes into consideration when accepting a much lower offer or had some sort of Informal agreement of a sort. Something you claim as fact although neither of us are privy to that information, we may only speculate. Historical transfers surrounding bayern seem to indicate that this unofficial understanding could very well have been discussed or expected but not legally binding (no one was saying it was anyway). So claiming that none of these conversations took place is conjecture no?
Significant covid depreciation would of potentially been true for the 19/20 season but he was bought in the 20/21 season where most footballing asset valuations had recovered.
Liverpool has done the same if not worse to other clubs regarding transferring lowballing etc yet the language used to describe their practise is one of positivity compared to the language used to describe bayern from posters like yourself.
Edit: don't really care about it either way just find it amusing. The duality of Liverpool stans lol
