Enough of my whining, now he is coming and there is no stopping of it, I can only wish him great success here, for our sake.

Welcome Robert. Visca el Barca!

Not his biggest fan, but he's undoubtedly a worldclass striker.

Let's say he stays here for 2 years - that's roughly 40m/year with wages and fee. Which is quite normal for a markee player. Heck, Griezmann was almost double that (still not over this).

Have you guys looked at his body?

There are zero reasons why Modric would still make a difference in CL at 37, and Lewandowski won't do it as well for 3-4 years.

Modric was considered as the worst signing of a season in his first RM season.
He also needed time to adapt to a new country.

Let's check some other forwards at Barca and their impact in the first season.

Ronaldinho 2003
Psg 8 goals
Barca 15 La Liga goals

Larsson
Celtic 30 league goals
Barca 3 league goals, injured for half a season
3 La liga goals

Henry
Arsenal, 17 matches 10 goals
Barca, 30 matches 12 league goals

Zlatan
Inter 25 league goals
16 La liga goals, sold right away

Alexis
Udinese 12 goals
Barca 12 league goals

Neymar
Santos 14 goals
Barca 9 league goals

Suarez
Liverpool 31 goals
Barca 16 goals, his worst season out of his first 4 seasons here

Dembele
Borussia 6 goals
Barca 3 goals

Malcom
Bordeaux 12 goals
Barca 1 goal

Coutinho
Last 18 months Liverpool 20 goals
Barca 13 goals

Aubameyang
Arsenal 4 goals
Barca 11 goals

So, stats say that majority of players had way worse numbers at Barca than in their previous club in another country.
Only Ronaldinho, Alexis and Auba matched numbers.

Even Neymar and Suarez struggled in the first season.

Imo, Lewa might be the closer comparison wise to Messi at Barca and Cr7 at Rm.
They played there for 10+ years, the whole team was built around them.
When they moved to new country & new team Psg and Juve, they sucked.

More or less everyone struggles at Barca at first.
If Lewa will adjust to a team after 1 season, he will be 35 then.

I would. The only ones that are better at 9 are Kane, Benzema, maybe Haaland, and that's about it. And nobody except Pep and Klopp can do without a clear 9. Even Pep loses in CL because he lacks a real striker.

Ronaldo fucked up by choosing a declining Juventus. I bet he regrets it badly now.

Ronaldo is the reason juve declined

There are many top players well in their 30s now. Half of this forum were blowing smoke up Benzemas arse all year and he had his best season at 34.

Yes, but in the same club/league where he played for 10 years.

Messi was Ballon D Or at Barca last season.
I can't even find a word for his displays at Psg a few months later.

So, we aren't getting Benz from RM.
We are getting Messi from Psg or Cr7 from Juve/Man Utd.

Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 134 games at Juve. Yes he didn?t win the CL for them but they also haven?t won the CL in 65 other seasons.

That goal return most forwards could only dream of.

scored goals and they were playing with 10 man without the ball, some people still dont understand how important is to defend with all players

Man, what are you talking about? Lewandowski is basically the complete opposite to Messi. His biggest asset, in fact, is being very happy to just pounce on those balls into the box.

He's not someone who would jog around in midfield trying to disrupt anyone. He is a goalscorer. All he cares about is slamming that fucker in.

We don't need someone to dwell on the ball and come jogging in midfield to act as some sort of no10. We need fast, tough, and efficient forwards, who can provide the numbers. Shots, cuts inside, workrate, headers.

Lewandowski and Aubameyang are a great duo. The only bad thing about them is that they are not in their prime. But if they were, both together would cost 200m. Lewa som 140 and Aubameyang a good 60. We got them for 45 combined. A steal.

Expect him to be useful against some La Liga teams, bottom to mid table teams to be exact but not much should be expected against top teams and especially not in the CL. Bayern fans have always complained about him killing it in Buli but failing to have much of an impact in the CL.

He's back with shit statistics without context

Szarez scored 25goals and like 30 assists with tripleta in first season, scoring important goals against Atletico, Real M,and Juve in CL final.

Also 2 assists vs Bayern in semi final.

But if you ask BBZ he was bad.

The issue with that one in particular is that he was banned for like half the season

Context matters.
