9 - Robert Lewandowski

Well this is to be expected. He does turn 35 within 6 months. Besides Leo, CR, Ibra and Benz there arent really any world-class attacking players at that age. Many of his one-time competitors have either retired or went to softer challenges. Luisito? Gremio. Cavani? Valencia. Falcao? Rayo, impact sub. Diego Costa? Wolverhampton, impact sub. Higuain? Retired. Aguero? Retired. Mandzukic? Retired. Lewandowski is pretty much the last man standing out of his generation.

People got fooled by Messi, Cr7 and Zlatan.

Regarding Messi and CR7 vs Lewandowski, Messi and Cr7 had natural skills, at, let's say 100 and 95 level.
While even prime Lewa was way behind them in terms of talent and impact in big matches.
Let's say that his prime skills were 85-90 range.

Now, Messi's fitness has dropped but due to his natural skills at 100 level, now even aged 35, his skills are still adequate (let's say at 90 level, due to a drop in fitness).
Cr7's skills dropped from let's say 95 to 85-80 level.
While Lewa's prime was way lower than Messi's and Cr7's, that means that when his physique starts to decline, his overall skills will go down from a natural 85-90 level to 75-80.

With that logic, 35 years old Lewa couldn't be in the same class as 35 years old Messi or Cr7.

The other case is Zlatan, who's prime skills were closer to Lewa than to Messi or Cr7.
But Zlatan didn't go Cr7's and Lewa's route of losing weight to cope with the age.
Zlatan kept his physique and lost pace, but at least he was still a presence in the box and his shots and headers didn't lose in power due to weight loss, like in Cr7's and Lewa's case, where they lost the presence in the box, lost the strength in the duels and their shooting in general lost power and turned softer.

All in all, in upcoming Months, Lewa will lose pace (naturally, as everyone), but he will lose even more muscles due to diet (to keep some pace) so he will lose even more presence in the box, jumping ability, shooting power and heading power.

Basically = what you see today, remove even further 20-30% of skills in the next season.

Not sure why people bash him. He actually plays not bad, Raphinha's goal is pretty much thank to him.

Though now he looks like declined Suarez.

Except that the so-called declined Suarez regularly scored braces and hattricks against CL-dominating Real. Even in his last years.

He doesn't play BAD.

But when we signed him and in the first weeks, while he was scoring goals, a lot of fans talked about:
1. he might stay on this level for 3 years
2- he might score 50 goals this season
3. we have the best attack in Europe
4. we might even have a shot on a CL

When you remove a pricetag and fans' expectations in the early weeks, he plays ok.

Our bigger problem is LW, RW (when there is no Dembouz), non existing RB, not balanced midfield and coach who has record of winnimg one game in Europe in season amd half.

Just doesn't look like himself at the moment.

I have certain sources itk which tells me that there's some unrest between RL9 and the club behind the scenes. He's not happy with something.

In my opinion he plays same as before, but he does not get clear chances. We are playing with one winger, it can damage him a lot.
People see something like he can't walk, I don't see it yet, he didn't score yesterday but being between 2 CB's alone whole time, with Rapinha playing wide, and Gavi running like headless chicken over the pitch does not get you many chances.

His only chance was when he recived the ball, and made turn on wrong leg, and Varane catched him.

If he was not occupying space at Rapinha's cross we would never score.
It is 50% his goal.

Even more, it would never go in goal if he was not there.

In the end he will score 40-45goals this season at age 35 and people will still complain, I think for 40mil we could not get bigger star and player who can score 40 goals, and also is football superstar.

If you except him to dribble players, well he was never doing this...
