We should be glad that he's decided to join one of the best clubs in the world? one thats actually willing to come close to his wage demands?

These other teams are just a bunch of amateurs and shot themselves in the foot by not wanting to make such a "good deal". FFS just imagine the resale value in case it doesn't work. Was just thinking and this is a question for the part of the fandom that can't see any downside to this deal, even in the case he fails.

What if he flops for us and we have to sell him in 2 years? I say 2 years because that's the minimum time we give players to prove themselves. Anyway, imagine that, for whatever reason, he fails at integrating or making the desired impact on the pitch and we have to sell. He would've had already cost us 40m in wages and 10 million in the signing bonus, so about 50m. For how much do you think that we can sell him in that case? 50m? 60m? Would you still think that the deal has been good if we recoup our money or make a marginal profit but waste 2 years with him?

Keep in mind that the guy has a 10m net a year salary and in that hypothetical scenario he has has failed to deliver the goods for a team that can pay those kind of wages.
