Brilliant strategy. Pretend you want to keep him while actually forcing the player to stay by not accepting 40 mil offers during summer only to screw Barca in the long run. Some were even from Barca!

You still want him after the reports of him wanting a 12m+ salary and a guaranteed starting spot?

Even the MD and Sport journalists have turned against now

I'm persistent  if they make a deal which would suit the club, I think it would be a good deal. I don't trust all those rumors but if those are true, however, it's a no for me.

lets say he flops, and we settle for a 30m sell range like how we did with paco

the fee pays off 2.5 years of his contract, surely by then we know he failed or in best cases he succeeded.
so high wages was expected with a free transfer.

(not saying its a smart decision or bad one just that wages were expected to be high considering it's a free transfer)

I am sure PSG definately wanted to keep him. But those wages are horrible for this kind of player.

Lets hope this deal isn't true.

No club would be willing to pay him his demands then, and like many before him he will be happy with getting his pay cheque while rotting on Barcas bench.

You just know how this deal is going to end up for us.

We really need to have another club sign him or him resigning. To stop the board from commiting another mistake. I feel Abidal already tapped him up and we are doing to get back at psg for the neymar thing and the countless times we chased their players. We need less of these bullshit transfers and more De Jong/De Ligt type of transfers.

He’s not good enough. For depth yes, but he’ll expect to be a starter and throw his toys out the pram when it becomes painfully obvious that he isn’t, like he has done for France and now PSG.

De Jong please.

Apparently he had a huge disagreement with Tuchel before yesterdays game. His diva personality strikes again!

Double standards.
You can say both:

1. he is a diva and is causing problems in his club
2. he is so devoted to Barca that he is willing to sit on the stands for 1 season just to come for free to his dream club

When Dembele and Coutinho were doing shit in their former clubs, they were "showing their love and passion" for Barca
Just because they are technical players, loved by fans.
When Rabiot does the same, he is a diva.

If we will sign Rabiot and if he will be mad for not playing, people will say: oh, the diva strikes again!
If Malcom would do the same, people would say: Stupid EV is killing this guy's confidence. Why is he not letting him play?

We can make double standards and 2 stories out of every situation (we are ALL doing it), based on whether you like a player or not.

Is he showing his passion for France when he throws his toys out the pram and refuses to be on the reserve list?

He’s a nothing player. He isn’t creative. He isn’t particularly good defensively and he’s also sloppy in possession. But because he’s tall and makes the odd tackle you want him purchased. You’re so blinkered.

In case you didn't know he has shown to be prima donna under every coach he's been playing in PSG. Nothing will change his nature by now. But of course you know all that, you're just purposefully obtuse for the sake of "argument" once again.

This makes literally no sense and is not in any shape or form comparable to what Coutinho or Dembele did.

Rabiot came late for trainings and straight out disobeyed Tuchel just like he disobeyed Laurent Blanc and lost his shit with Deschamps.

That's why he got benched, he's still in negotiations with PSG trying to get them to pay him a massive salary. He's not doing this out of love for Barcelona willing to sit on the stands for a year to come here.

Sorry, but here you cannot make any such argument if you're sincere to yourself.

It's frankly speaking embarrassing that you're even trying and claim people are displaying double standards here.

Good player when he wants to be, but not a Barca level starting midfielder by any stretch. I think PSG fans well be glad to see the back of him to be honest.

Thats not how things work. If he gets a super star wage and performs badly and/or acts unprofessionally, he'll of course refuse to take a pay cut when offered to another team and no team will pay him a superstar wage if he cant justify such wages. So we're stuck with him for the entirety of his contract.

Also, what is his signing-on fee?
