Because we only have so much money to spend on transfers and player salary, even if Rabiot comes for free. And I bet we will not be bringing in two midfielders next summer. We have needs in the defense and attacking apartment too.

Why do you think he's crap? He's got issues with attitude, that's true, but we can't know what's the club doing in that regard. Got lots of experience, many good performances to his name. You might not like him, but he's a good player. With potential to improve.

I don't watch PSG often, but there's not much to lose. Low risk, high reward, in many ways.

Rabiot is a bargain deal, even if he costs a bit in terms of wage. That is why (as you say in next post) he might be signed, in order to fill in a position while we can sign someone else.
Rabiot isn't a Busquets replacement, everyone including him knows that and doubt Abidal doesn't know that, with the way we have been consistently linked to FDJ I doubt that one deal will block the other at all
