Considering any player we sign will get signing bonus and high salary (we are that kind of club unfortunately) it isn't really a bad business

10 million euros is the absolute maximum salary that we should offer him and his mom. Anyway the wage structure has been a mess for a long, long time. Rabiot and his mom are just taking advantage of the board's incompetency and previous cases. Not to mention that everyone is getting richer (clubs, players, managers, agents, sponsors etc.) so this development will naturally impact salaries and transfer fees. 10 million euros in 2018 is not the same 10 million euros back in 2008. I think that those of us who remember another era in this regard need to come to terms with the fact that 40 million euros (for instance) is not much in today's market. 10 years ago that was a huge sum of money.

She's one of those people who damn well thinks her son deserves good wages and a good deal and would make sure he gets it.
Neymar's dad is also that to an extent but his motives along with the goons that are involved have more motives than just being your typical overprotective/bearing parent with some even being much sinister.

IMO Rabiot should be praised for turning down PSG. Verratti didn't have the balls back in the summer 2017 but Rabiot defintely has.

Pep will never pay a 10m for an average workhorse player which will further break the club's salary structure. This will only trigger more wage increase demands from our players and will be a benchmark for future players negotiations. We forget that everything is relative, and our players won't compare their salaries with players from other clubs but from within.
Only naive people will think Rabiot and his mother are not here for the money, or he is fighting to free himself from a tyrant.

Spot on. It's unbelievable how people are trying to justify such a salary because he's coming for free. For a freaking squad player at best, no less. We already have a player with a way higher ceiling in Arthur that plays the same damn position, because people thinking that he'll take Busi's place have another thing coming. The guy bitched when he had to take a more defensive role. So imagine having this guy on the payroll while he's riding the bench. Absolutely bad business justified by the actions of Rabiot aginst PSG. Bush league mentality from our fans.
No surprise a mediocre manager like Valverde still has a job at this club.

Don't see that, she is looking for the best for her son and better pay day which any agent should do. Don't see the situation much different than A.Sanchez last year with Arsenal for example
Neymar situation was fucked up because he was the 2nd most marketable player in the world after Cr7 due to huge popularity in Brazil and among younger kids and girls (for whatever reason) and that was on top of the fact he was best talent of his generation (the one after Messi/Cr7/Iniesta/Robbery etc)
His dad knew he can make and force any demand and he will get it
Rabiot isn't like that and he likely knows it
