He will sign in January. It's a done deal. Welcome Rabiot.

We will see in which form he will come in the end of June after not playing a single minute in 6 months and probably broken in his head. All the medias of his own country are pissing on him. It should be hard, but he is responsible.

I do not think that not playing for 5 months (there will be no club football in June other than a CL final that QSG is unlikely to appear in as usual) in the average one-horse league that is Ligue 1 (not to mention the even more useless Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue) is going to hurt Rabiot at all. He has won those competitions several times already and proven his worth in them for 6 seasons in a row. He has nothing to prove anymore. Those are delusions of certain QSG supporters. 5 months of inactivity is nothing special. Tons of players have been injured for longer later to come back stronger. Rabiot will have no injury and he will keep in shape during that period. He will only lack match fitness which is something that can easily be worked on during the summer. Nor is he expected to be a game changer immediately or even for the first half season. If he arrives I expect him to be a rotational player in a hopefully stacked midfield composed of him, Arthur, De Jong/Ndombele/another promising youngster, Busquets, Vidal and Aleñá. Rabiot turning 24 this April and having plenty of future ahead of him and potential to develop further is considered as a long-term investment. Not a Vidal type of transfer.

It is a risk he had to take for his freedom of movement. PSG are not a normal club.

Says Barcelona will make an official offer to Rabiot in January: €10m salary + sign-on bonus for €10m. This offer will only hold if a summer move is made and the player comes in for free.

The other possibility that Abidal wants to discuss with Antero Henrique is that of a January transfer. If it were to happen, the sign-on bonus would go down from €10m to €5m. As for others clubs in the race Tottenham has oferred a €7m salary, the player is keen to accept if the deal with Barcelona somehows falls apart.

So we buy him in Jan but get him in summer? Or does it mean for a move in Jan?

If Rabiot comes to Barcelona during the summer, he gets €10m salary & sign-on bonus for €10m.

If Rabiot comes to Barcelona during January, he gets €10m & sign-on bonus on €5m.

Definitely. Vidal and Arthur will be seeing the bench often. Rabiot is going to throw another huge tantrum if he doesn't start all the big games.

If that happens I hope someone gives him a swift kick in the ass if he throws a tantrum.
