Did anyone else see that at times towards end of second half Vidal was drifting towards the left flank? At one time i saw him where Jordi alba would be and was like WTF?? Like no wonder the right right side was so open for the counter attack.
Hope Valverde picks this up along with his other lack of defensive skills, otherwise we are in for a looong season

No doubt Valverde also messed up by not subbing him or telling him to at least do his job as a left back. If you know you have a guy who is shit at defending at least tell him to stay there, maybe the ball bounces off him.

Vidal is a decent option to play against teams that are lower on the table. but even then he stumbles a bit against lower sides but playing him against Isco and Marcelo was suicide off the bat. He simply cannot defend and no one should expect him to improve in that regard.

Semedo in the few minutes he played in preseason was so much better despite being new to the team, this tells a lot about how bad Vidal is at that position.

I honestly think people should watch the game again. He played a decent game against the best team in the world. I think people need to realize that he was never signed to be our starting right back, he was signed to hold that spot until we had our starting right back. On top of that, he needs more time after that injury he had. He did ok against the best team in the world. He's obviously not as good as Semedo, but I think he will be good for us against most la liga teams.
