if he does 'turn into prime Alves' wouldnt it be better to keep him instead of spending money on another player in any case, i was joking although i still want to believe he can go back to his prevouis form, he hasnt shown any reason for us to keep him if we find a recent enough replacement. im all for selling him in jan if he continues as he has been.

Than we must definitely buy new RB in January. It would be crazy that we lose everything because we do not have backup for RB position! Another problem is that January can be tricky window to buy really good players. Maybe we'll have to find some short term half year solution (e.g. Srna).

Calling up players from the B team looks like the only realistic solution. We can only hope Palencia's hard working attitude is good enough for him to handle the minnows of La Liga, if such a chance is ever even afforded to him.

The guy is also 22, so he's kind of old to be playing at Barca B. We should give him a go and see how he does.

Him or Palencia, between the two I would hope at least one becomes a decent back up. I'm more leaning towards Palencia, though. I don't know much of him from his days prior to Juvenil A but since I've started watching him he's been more or less exactly the type of player Lucho wants in his squad. How he could constantly call up lazy, low talent players like Gumbau to the first team while ignoring our B team defense is very odd.
