Alen Halilović

Anyone explains why he's getting fewer minutes? Is it a change of tactics... or he's just not doing well?
BTW judging from his games earlier this season his style can really slow down the attack.

I think the problem is that when Abelardo decided to bench Halilovic against Real Sociedad, Sporting won that game and the player who replaced Halilovic scored a goal.

And after their victory against Valencia at Mestilla without Halilovic in their line-up today, it doesn't look good for him.

But Gijón need every single point in order to not be relegated from La Liga, so I want them to do well.

The previous matches in which Halilovic played, he's their best player most of the time but lost his form slighly recently.

It seems Halilovic has actually become more selfish in his game despite the assist he made against Real Sociedad.

If someone got subbed in for Messi and he somehow performed better or on a similar level we'd find a way to get both players out there, not bench one for the other.

Not comparing Alen to Messi btw, so please leave the flamethrowers at home...

Love him as well, but he is the kind of player who would shine in a team that has the ball. His workrate is not impressive, but once he gets on the ball, he can dribble and he can find amazing passes. On the ball, he is by far Gijon's best player.

Problem for him and for Gijon as well is that they can't even dominate Rayo at home.
