10m buyback next year, 12.5m the next. Quite high. I doubt he'll come back.

It's a pretty good deal to be fair, considering we would spend 5-7.5m net on him if he becomes a good players and two years should be more than enough time to indicate that.

Let's hope Hamburg are not relegated next year then.

They always end up lucking themselves out of relegation. It's a bit ironic how everyone said he needed to move to a better team and all that, yet he's moving to another lower half of the table/possible relegation fodder.

I would have preferred him staying in Spain or at least if he went to a more stable club in Germany but hopefully he succeeds all the same.

How is that a good deal? If we buy him back next year we'll gift 5M to Hamburg for nothing. If we really wanted to keep Halilovic then why not a loan?

I think he's gone for good, unless he really breaks through and stars in BL.

Well, it is not like he could choose whatever club he wants to join, it doesn't work like that. There have to be clubs that show interest in getting him first and then he can pick and choose between those who have shown interest. So far only Valencia and HSV have done that. So no, he can't just go join BVB, for example or Atletico Madrid. Also keep in mind those clubs that accept a transfer with a buy-back are usually not top-tier clubs, maybe with the exception of Juventus in the case of Morata.

As long as there is a management and manager having faith in him and promising him solid minutes, I think it should be good. Even though HSV is not one of the better clubs in the Buli (they did stay clear of relegation last season, finished 10th, and they received two huge donations from a local HSV fan who is a shipping tycoon, Klaus-Michael Kuhne. Let's hope they put his money in good use), if he plays regularly, he will have the opportunities to play against some of the best teams in the world such as Bayern and BVB. So it is not necessarily bad for his development.

I'm pretty sure other teams also showed interest until he and his entourage started demanding ridiculous things.

Hamburg is one of the most unstable teams in Germany. Let's see how it goes, but it would have been better if he went to Valencia instead. It looks like they went for the best offer, which he's entitled to, and is good for him, but if Hamburg start to struggle and he finds himself on the bench like some other players that went out, then he'll not be coming back.

On the other hand, if Hamburg don't self-destruct and he gets the trust of his manager, then he'll get more than enough chances to prove himself.

Why didn't Alen choose Valencia? valencia is always fighting for the 4th spot at best in la liga

If its because of money then that would be absurd, how much money does a youngster need, specially one that hasn't proved anything yet?

How can you be sure? The only sources was leaked from Valencia itself and Catalan picked the story from them.It could be just a club low balling the player.

And it is funny you call Hamburg one of the most unstable teams in Germany _which is true,no doubt_ and then think he is better going for Valencia who might just be even worse right now. This club has trusted G. Neville for most of the last season FFS,stacked with group of young player that can't play to their full potential, failed to convince a decent coach to come and hired an interim coach who spent most of his life as fitness coach a their new coach. In tough Liga and the way they are managed right now it seem Hamburg is at least moving to the right direction in comparison.

Let's not forget Hamburg wanted him last year and it was the club he wanted to go on loan as he and his entourage thought it was the best for his development until Lucho talked to him and asked him to join Sporting as they are better choice and he accepted the coach well.So it might not be just about the money and may be Hamburg really wanted him and was convincing for the player for 2nd year in a row.

Considering it is his job,the answer is as much money as he can get
