I don't think Cules are in any position to laugh at other clubs transfer policy given that this Summer you pulled off the dumbest move in transfer history.

true, but you gotta agree that your transfer policy is worse than ours as of right now.

Actually having little money to spend has done wonders for our policy. We now go for youngsters instead of offering expensive contracts to ageing players. So far I like having no transfer money, better that than pissing it all away on a player who is inferior to the one he replaced.

That David Beckham kid has a bright future ahead of him

Chyn hasn't impressed me at all this season; actually he hasn't done much besides mess up and get owned....I would rather see Fontas or even Muniesa back there.

Would of loved for that 25 million to go towards Pato (or Silva, but Pato is in a class all of his own imo). Even if it had cost us 45 million, fuck it. He's 20 and not going to do anything but improve....and thats scary.

Are you serious? I saw Fontas play against Gijón earlier this season, and he was crap. He couldn't pass the ball well, his tackles were dreadful, he caused more problems than he could eliminate. Perhaps Chyg isn't our best buy of the season, but preferring Fontas is another thing....

I keep hearing cules hype up Muniesa and Fontas, and I recall Muniesa looking sharp except for that whole card thing in his debut, but Pep, who trained them on Atletic, has enough faith in them to request young defenders brought in his first year, and then insisting on bringing in Chyga when Caceres didn't work out. I don't want to raise my expectations too much in thinking that Muniesa and Fontas are the answer. One of them, if not both, could just as easily be the new Victor Sanchez.

Played well for us last year, and atleast we didn't give LA Galaxy Pirlo + 45M for him.

Yea, you surely didn't pay that much but did you win anything? NO.

The point behind transfers is to win trophies (unless you're Perez and you want to sell shirts) not to get random players for cheap

Yup he scored another great goal today. Not only is he scoring goals but almost every one is extremely pretty to look at. The #1 player I'd want to see wearing a Barca jersey.

No... Please. Please. Please. Do not say that. Fontas is a nuclear bomb waiting to go off. Put him on in a match and he's 99% guaranteed to make at least one fatal mistake.
The best thing Pep has done this season is refused to call up Fontás after that disastrous match. I am so happy. Anti-fontas4eva! :2145960713mundoemot

Actually I couldn't disagree with you more. He made a big mistake or two but so what?! Marquez has cost us 3 goals in 3 matches (and thats not blaming him for the failed clearance one either). Chyn has looked awful as well, making a huge mistake or two each appearance.

Fontas was 19....and still is 19. The way I see it is he went out there, the ball was passed back to him and he didn't panic. He held onto the ball comfortably and looked around for a good pass. He didn't just get rid of the ball instantly like the other youngers b/c they were nervous. That shows confidence, especially for such a young age. Sure he made a mistake, but he also looked pretty good the rest of the time. He will continue to develop and judging by how some of our CBs have been playing this year, I'd rather have him out there against weak teams getting experience...Chyn can't even play in Champ's League anyway...

We did the same with Caceres, he was 21 and still young. He made a few mistakes here and there but he had limited time on the pitch. I would of liked to stick with him a bit more to give him a chance before wasting the money and getting rid of him. Since then he's been rock solid for Juventus in Italy. FYI- We'd also be 25 million richer; that's 25 million towards Silva or Pato.
